See the post i linked above, I did my best to write a comprehensive description & testing guide for the P0500 code but it may be confusing for some.

I you need help let me know and I'll see what I can do.
Having a scan tool that can read live data would be helpful as well to see if the PCM is seeing vehicle speed or not.

Combination Meter wiring also attached below.

Does it drop out at times? I'm assuming it does since your setting a P0500.

No the speed didn’t cut out on the scan tool or the cluster when I installed the new cluster the code went away for 2 days longest it’s been gone and then came back now clearing it I can’t even go 2 minutes down the road without it coming back

Watch your vehicle speed on the scan tool from the PCM and see if it stay working with no dropouts.

If you see it drop to 0 give the cluster a few taps and see if it comes back, if it does then the cluster likely failed again. For some reason it seems to be a super common issue on 05-11 clusters, I suspect it's due to a cracked solder joint but I haven't seen that verified.

Worst case the cluster can be bypassed as a workaround to getting another cluster if it is the problem.

Well I guess we need to go through the diagnostic steps then.

It shouldn't be too difficult to diagnose since your speedo works and it's currently broke.

By far the most comon cause of it is the cluster but that is in question since you replaced it so we have to test the circuit.

A scope would make things easier but it can be done with a meter, I specifically made the tests to use a meter because I know 99% of DIY people don't have a scope.

I honestly can't tell you as I've never had one apart.

We know it can be bypassed if it comes to that, at least on trucks built before 12/2010
