Mine probably have 10-15k in them yet, maybe? IIRC, my last Grabbers wore much quicker in the second half of their life. For trails, especially way out in the boonies, by myself, I'd prefer to upgrade the tires sooner than later. Current tires are 2 years old, maybe 35k or so on them.

I REALLY hope they are being conservative in their estimates and they will become available sooner than that. I mean it's not the end of the world if my winter tires get burned up but damn it I want to be a cool kid on 33s :p

Very tempting, but 69lbs for a Tacoma tire in 35x11.5x17... is that just too heavy?

It's definitely up there for an AT tire when there are some MT options that weight about the same. The 3 ply sideway is my guess as to why these tires are heavier than most of their direct competitors.

The way I look at it, though, is if I am putting 35's on my Tacoma, MPG's aren't the top of the priority list.

For sure, I'm just comparing this to the same size Toyo AT3 at 61lbs.

Weight could be an expectable compromise if your goal is to gain a more durable sidewall with its 3-ply DURASPEC Sidewall Technology.

@Discount Tire Has Falken said when the 255/85/R16's will be available?

Falken has been releasing small numbers of units since January, the demand has been higher than expected. The need is to ramp up production on this size specifically. DM coming your way.

Looking at the specs of the tire in 2 different sizes has me wondering about them. I’ve looked at them in the stock 265/70/16’s and skinny 255/85/16’s. Other than the difference in height, I’ve noticed the stock size is SL rated and the skinny is C rated. The skinny is also 12 lbs a tire heavier, but I don’t see much difference in any other way. Am I missing something? 12 lbs a tire is a lot of weight for not much difference.

I’ve also noticed not much difference in weight (4 lbs) between the AT4W and the KO2’s both in stock size, but the AT4w is SL and the KO2 is E rated.

Yeah the new sidewall material Falken is using seems to be quite heavy. It's gonna be a good off road tire but possibly not so good on road tire. I'm not sure if it's right but according to the discount tire site the ko2 in a 295 75 16 is less than 57 pounds. Which is lighter than the falken in the 255 and the same weight as my current Mickey Thompsons in a 285. It's got me thinking about going bigger.
