It sounds like you already know this, but just in case: The colors sometimes vary year over year, so it's totally normal for the colors to be different if your pigtail is from a different year than your truck.

Here's an explainer of how to read the Toyota electrical diagrams. This is from my 1998 electrical wiring diagram, so but all the core concepts should be the same for your 2004.

Here's an example from page 21 of the PDF that TnShooter linked to. The PDF is supposedly from a 2004, so the colors should match your truck.

The light control stalk is referred to in the manual as a "Combination Switch", or "COMB SW", or "C14" for "the 14th connector in the cowl area".

The wires are green (G), blue with red stripe (L-R), and green with white stripe (G-W)

The pins in the connector are 1, 2, and 3.

If you want to get more complete diagrams, you can buy a 2-day subscription to Toyota's Technical Information System (TIS) for $25 and download whatever you need. https://techinfo.toyota.com/

What year, model, trim is your truck?
What year, model, trim was the truck that headlight stalk came off of?

She's already said twice that her truck is a 2004 Double Cab.

What difference does trim make--is that a roundabout way of asking if the truck had daytime running lights?
