Are stock bump stops okay for a 1 in. lift in the back.

Hey everybody. I just put in new leaf springs that gave me a 1 in. lift. I also put in a U-bolt flip kit with bigger bump stops. With the bigger bump stops there's not much up travel anymore. I hit them over fairly small bumps now. What would the best fix be? Would the stock bump stops work for a 1 in. lift, or are there better options?

I put in a Deaver add a leaf for about a 1.5” lift and the stock bump stops were good with normal loads, but I ended up taking them out because I tow a RV sometimes and put in airbags.

Good to know, thanks! Yeah I don't tow much, but I do drive down dirt roads with some big bumps pretty often. So I figured if I could put the stock bump stops back in and get back a good amount of the up travel, that would be useful.

Maybe take a photo and measure the distance for us.

That is frustrating for sure, bottoming out after lifting is not ideal.

It is annoying, but I don't expect the fix to be too difficult. Just need to figure out what the best fix is :)
I'll try to get a good picture when I get a chance.

This is what it looks like. It's about 2 and a half inches to the top part of the bump stop and about 3 and a half inches to the main part of the bump stop. There's also the stock one next to it for reference.PXL_20240505_011806870.jpg PXL_20240505_012051271.jpg

    This and that
They squish. Apparently there are videos out there. I understand what you are saying though.

up front I have some icon bump stops. They touch the arm almost always. Last night during my tire rotation, I went to swap them out for the super bumps. Superbumps are about an inch shorter. I couldn’t get the super bumps to start threading and did not want to deal with it. The icons that I pulled off and put back on, was softer than when it went on initially. I don’t have an anti sway bar in place and have ome 886 and quite some weight up front. So, I figure maybe there was a reason why I couldn’t thread the super bumps. Like my truck said “nah brah, use the longer ones”.IMG_1121.jpg

It depends on brand and design, I would call the MFG. Some are designed to engage softly, so they are longer. I wonder if those stops are designed for more lift too?
