Hey everyone, here for a little bit of advice. Ever since I bought my Tacoma I've had a pretty rough vibration throughout the truck on idle. The car idles at around 600rpm and drive really well with no issues, just vibrates a lot when holding the breaks at a red light or something. Not too much in park only when in drive or reverse. I wasn't too worried but I've been noticing the back part of my hood shaking up and down from the vibration. Definitely not from anything hitting the hood (no banging sound or anything like that) while in idle but I believe strictly from the vibrations alone.

Appreciate any input or solutions you guys have to offer!

    Motor mounts? Trans Mount?

Check rubber stoppers under the hood and see if you can adjust them to sit higher to stop the hood vibration.

Hey man, I thought about this but the truck only has 79k miles on it. Do you think the mounts could still need replacing that early on?

For mounts I think it isn't the miles, it's the 20 years, and maybe oil from a valve cover leak degrading the rubber slowly over the years.

Exactly this. This is actually why low-mileage (but still older) used cars are a bit risky. Everybody thinks nothing needs replaced yet, since it's low-mileage, but that's not the case for anything rubber or fluids
