Aux Fuse Block

How do you guys think this would work as a Aux Fuse/Relay Block in a Tacoma?

It looks like a nice handy splash proof fuse block. A little pricey but it would make for a clean install.

I'm looking to use it to run some driving lights, radios, extra power outlets, etc.

I have a Blue Sea Fuse Block in hand, but I am worried about it getting full of dirt and dust under the hood without being put into a box.

 

mine has stayed clean, just dusty on the cover from 4wheeling

nice i like the breaker, i didnt feel the need for one since i'm not doing any like african safari trips, but maybe one day i'll add one

 

I don't have pics, but I have the blue sea as well, just the 6 terminal one with a negative bus.

 

Breaker isn't for safari trips its for if you get a short of some kind in the fuse panel or wiring to it. Breaker setup you hear a click. Direct setup you have a fire in your engine bay and your truck is garbage.

Better hope you have fire insurance and they somehow don't find that

As I posted earlier, I did bluesea as well, though I used a dist panel. Shows which circuits are on/off/blown with a switch for each. And yes I used a breaker.

None of my wiring is cleaned up yet, don't judge meeee.

If its a first gen just keep driving.

 

You can get breakers for reg size fuses. Can get auto reset, manual reset, or plain fuses.

 

ER, no it wont, since aux fuxe panels are wired directly to the battery. There is no fuse to blow, you will have a fire.

You are not paying attention

We are talking about the circuit breaker that goes between the battery and aux fuse panel. You can see it in the pic in post number 3.

I know. I was talking about the last pic, so one doesn't have to buy that monster of a circuit breaker panel.

Sorry SB my bad. That is not a circuit breaker panel. It is a fuse panel like the other. It just has some more features A switch for each circuit, and an indicator LED that tells you if the circuit is switched on and fuse ok, switched off but fuse ok, or fuse blown.

It fits nice back there, no intrusion. And again, I'm not done wiring so much cleanup still to be done.

What you put on the fuse block isn't the issue. What if something comes loose in the fuse block itself, and shorts? What if the wire to the fuse block rubs on something and shorts?
