    If you’re wanting something for self defense I wouldn’t get anything less than a 9mm. The issue that most women have with semi automatics is racking the slide. Smith and Wesson makes a semi automatic model called EZ, easier to rack the slide. If you’re looking for something to go plinking and target shooting with you might consider a .380 caliber which will have less recoil.

    Yeah, I have a Walther PK-380.
    It fits my hand well, therefore I shoot it fairly well.
    I shot my Taurus 92 (clone of the early Beretta 92) better, but it wasn't suitable for concealed carry... too big.

    The .380 ACP is nothing to sneeze at with the proper ammo.

    I keep the 9mm bedside and the 45ACP by my desk.

    My AR is also in my office along with my shotgun, for if there are intruders heading down my driveway.

    @Gen1TacoLady
    I have an honest question; if someone broke into your room or maybe you hear a noise and you walk across the house and someone is beating on your dad, would you be able to kill them? If not, there's absolutely no shame whatsoever in that, but there's also no reason to buy a home defense gun. Its just something to consider.
    Personally, the paperwork afterwards would bother me more than shooting some fuckhead that got up in my crib, but we're all different, which is a good thing. (Except for the tall guy carrying a purse and shopping at WM with his grandma, thats not a good thing. :eek:

    Good point StockMan.

    I'd be more pissed about the cops taking my gun after said shooting.

    Time for sleeps. Gnite y'all.

    P.S. - I wouldn't mind getting an AK-47. Don't really need it, but I want one. :)

    That is the question, isn't it. I can really only say what I think is true having never been in that situation. I think I could. I don't know for sure, but if I thought someone was going to hurt my mom or dad, I would want to wipe them off the map.
