Miami didn’t suck this year! Good racing all around

 

Pulling away from Max? Priceless

 

Just after Leclerc's first pit, he was 12.7 seconds behind Norris.
The VSC came out because of the bollard on the track.
The VSC lasted less than a full lap.
When the VSC ended, Leclerc was then 17.5 seconds behind. Geeze...
Norris lost 4/10ths of a second during the VSC. Leclerc lost almost 5 whole seconds.
Really poor management on Leclerc's part.

So, Sainz only hit with a 5 second penalty for ruining Piastri's race. KMag hit with a 10 second penalty. And fuck all for Lewis?

Amazing drive by Lando, so glad he finally got a win. And Miami finally puts on a good show! The track isn't hopeless afterall.

 

McLaren beat Red Bull in a straight fight! Awesome. They were better than Ferrari too. If Sainz hadn't gone postal on him, Piastri had an honest chance at podium. I hope their performance versus Red Bull is a portent of things to come for the rest of the season.

HAM had a championship point taken away for the pit lane speeding incident. MAG picked up 5 penalty points and is teetering on the brink of race bans. His points don't get reduced until March 2025 so he'd better behave. Sainz got a penalty point as well.

Mercedes is not in a good place, and it's been two years running. I don't blame HAM for leaving. He left McLaren at a similar point in that team's history. I don't know if Ferrari will be a front row team next year, but I'd bet on them before I'd bet on Mercedes. (And I'd bet on McLaren over either.) Dueling with Haas all weekend -- embarrassing for a team everyone still thinks is first tier.

Told my son every season there are one or two races worth watching start to finish. This was one.

Miami was exciting because there is nowhere to pass yet drivers still tried to make those passes.

Absolutely.......Piastri was really fucked by Sainz.....but in all honesty, it was his race-leader that wanted him to go into the pit and change his front wing.....I really did not think that it was that bad but what do I know. Afterwards he got fastest lap but it wasn't upheld because he wasn't in the top 10

Was really hoping this was going to be a Start to finish banger and it really was.....

 

Even without the successful Perez torpedo it stayed interesting. Hoping this carries on with three teams actually competing at the front.

 

It would have been funny as hell if Checo took out Verstappen in the first lap but it was better still that he didn't because Norris beat Max on his own. It would have been stated that the only reason why Max didn't win was because his car was crashed into but this shows that with the proper strategy, Max is beatable.
