Question: Any concerns with the effects of heat (from engine or hood in the sun) on the adhesive used to attach the LED strip?

Easy. Larger cup holders. Not sure why they don't come from the factory like this.

Not really it looked like high tempt double sided 3m, been rolling around last few days without issue.

Not who you asked, but... I've had underhood lights (2 strips) installed for about four years now (GA sun) and have not had any indications of weakened adhesive.

Good to hear! It’s a perfect use of LED strip lighting.

Allows front suspension to run independently giving more articulation in your front shocks.

When you hit a bump on passenger side and feel both tires move or a jarring front end.....
    You won't feel that.

For on and off road? Are there any downfalls to removing it

Yes the ride quality is improved on and off-road. The main downfall is less stability under hard cornering and evasive maneuvers. I have to imagine a stock TRD off-road would be pretty sketchy without the sway bar because of how soft and jiggly the stock suspension is but with aftermarket suspension taking the sway bar off really lets the aftermarket suspension do its thing without being hampered. It allows more droop and more importantly it lets it be truly independent. As mentioned above if you hit a pothole with the left side tire and you have your sway bar on it jerks the vehicle but if you don't have the sway bar on then just the left side will feel the impact of the pothole but the right side will remain unbothered.

2 things, 1) does the button in that location automatically turn on the lights when opening the hood/turn them off when closing the hood? Or is it just a matter of pressing the button when you would like to activate it? 2) not to be that guy, but it appears this is installed on the driver side, not passenger :rofl:I was trying to figure out if the image was mirrored but then saw the battery behind the button, had me there for a second!

Definitely want to go with this same setup either way. Been looking for materials on my own, so thank you for having a budget-friendly option laid out!

    1. The the button I used is manual so you have to press it to turn on/off, I prefer that to it being on all times of day when I pop the hood. The LED Kit comes with a switch that triggers the lights to come on every time the hood is open that I didn't want to use.

    2. Yes you're right hahaha I noticed that the other day but have been to lazy to correct passenger to driver side .

Thanks for the swift response amigo! Yeah, I have both items in my cart for a quick install this summer. Getting money saved up for an OTT tune and doing the Accumulator Clutch Disk Delete has taken the forefront of the project bandwidth, but I've been slowly trying to find a simple and cheap solution for this mini project, so thank you again!

Get yourself some 21-22 RAV4 Prime / 19-22 RAV4 knobs. Part number 90010-23059. They make a world of difference, have grip and (to me) look like they should've been there to begin with. Light up like the standard OEM ones also. Make sure you take the black plastic piece out first before installing. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2020-tacoma-radio-knobs-mod-rav4-knobs.657365/

I think this mod has the highest happiness/cost ratio of any change I have made to my truck.

The H9 bulbs and OCD tray for the centre console are competing for bronze and silver.

Absolutley yes. Removing it can yield some positive attributes, but its not all good with no bad - it serves a significant purpose, and removing it can be dangerous. As he stated, removing it allows your front suspension to flex independently. You'll notice the pro's of removing it at lower speeds. At higher speeds, it can be flat out dangerous. The truck will no longer respond like it used to, and it will have much more body roll. Something else to consider with or without sway bar is towing limitations. Moral of the story - it can be beneficial; it can also be dangerous. The same can be said for all mods we do. Many go without a sway bar, and its not all bad. Just like its not all good. Thanks for asking the question - its nice to be informed before making a decision! FWIW, I run without one. You get used to it after a while, but if I allowed anyone else to regularly drive my truck, there's no way I'd run without it. It absolutely changes the drivability of the truck (some characteristics for the better, some for the worst).

I’ve run vehicles without a sway bar before. The Tacoma was too unstable for my taste so I put it back on.

I tend to drive my 2017 Sport like a sports car so I think that I will keep mine one. However, if I off-roaded more often I would be tempted to remove it.

The ole Rubicon push button sway bar disconnect would be a nice Tacoma modification.
