Looking through your post history, it seems one taco you bought at 70k then it was nearing 200k, I’m curious if this was the same truck you are speaking about which you also filled the engine to 11 quarts because you drained the transmission?

Go buy a ford and be done with it these trucks are honestly junk!

happens a lot with German cars
    what cost you money?
“I paid for $1000 oil changes”
Did you avoid the known shit option and get the known good one?
    “No”

unfortunately there is evidence of Toyota starting to go downhill in the modern era with US offerings but at least you get capability
vs many other vehicles, you never get any capability

since 88 i have had one and it rotted out after 10 years
99 rotted frame after 11 years, toyota bought it back for 150% BBV
my 2009 rotted out frame not covered after 13 years, replacing frame as the new ones are so much money and the 3.5 winds up too much for my liking

All Toyota had to do was treat the frames properly for long term durability but they didn't. It isn't an issue for me since I live in South Texas but gosh....one should be able to own a truck longer than 10-15 years if they want to without it breaking in half.

    High quality for sure. :drevil:

Check the values of these two comparable model year trucks, both in access-cab size w/ largest available engine, with the same region/ZIP code selected. Things that make you go "hmmmmm."

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
My last Dakota (98) had a 318 in it. It would pass anything but a gas station! It wouldn't get 13mpg if you dropped it out of a C-130! That truck ate it's trans @ 131k, A/C clutch went bad shortly after, taking the seal to the compressor with it. Otherwise, it was OK.

My first Tacoma (06 DCLB V6) had 199k on it when I traded into my 3g. At that point, besides normal maintenance, I had to replace the axle seals, rebuild the driveshaft and replace the fuel pump. I thought it was a pretty fair truck and really didn't owe me a thing.

Hey Mikey @Mdean1107, I wish you a lotta luck with your Ranger. I hear they're phenomenal trucks. Maybe a Colorado/Canyon...funny, I don't see any of them on the local trails...

Out here, in my pretty-minimal forest trail explorations, so far I see about 80% Toyota, 20% Dodge/GMC. Tacos and 4runners mostly, the occasional land cruiser or FJ cruiser.

And I've yet to see a Honda Ridgeline on any ridge lines. Maybe one day.
