That's a horrible idea. What time?
    LOL.

I know. That's why I posted a basic Ford Ranger build at $37,900. People seem to think this unique to Toyota. Point is it is not. And a little research will show that. But it's easier to jump on TW and complain about it.

“Welding debris left on the ends of the rear axle assembly during manufacturing could cause certain retaining nuts to loosen over time and eventually fall off, potentially causing a part to separate from the axle. If separation occurs, this can affect vehicle stability and brake performance, increasing the risk of a crash.”

We were all laughing when Chryslers were doing this a few years back.

Bronco Sports, Escapes Recalled Due to Potential Fire Risk. In the other recall, which includes more than 42,000 2022-2023 Bronco Sport and 2022 Escape SUVs equipped with 1.5L engines, the fuel injector may crack, which can lead to a fuel leak inside the engine compartment. Apr 17, 2024

https://www.automotive-fleet.com/10...called Due,leak inside the engine compartment.

You know what the fix is? A drain hose to keep the gas from hitting the engine and igniting. They are not going to fix the problem, just ignore and deflect. If you're happy with that thinking, sell you Tacoma and go buy a Ford. I'll bet you don't.

Yup, and if I'm going to chance a turbo now it really opens up the selection. This is just a quick search in my area:

I remember when Toyota said the Takata airbag will kill my passenger and their solution was not to drive my 4Runner for the 18 months they said the replacement might take.

Oh yeah, I’m not denying that it’s tough, but 18k is completely absurd pricing for what you get in a Tacoma in today’s world

"in this economy" is justifiable. Everybody flush with cash from those awesome stimulus checks bought new cars. Supply chain issues caused disruptions and shortages, stimulus checks drove inflation blah blah blah. All leading to higher new car prices.

Good news is 2024 should finally see a drop in new car prices. Or let me re-phrase, there is no reason as to why they shouldn't come down this year :crapstorm:

I respectfully disagree, there is a split in the middle on the people that can afford these cars and some people who will stretch their finances to afford these vehicles. I can only see small businesses buying these cars because of the money they probably have but even then i feel like if the prices don't come down, no one is going to win here. So yes, i can see drop in new car prices but it better be from the manufacturer, not from dealers trying to drop the price just to get sales.

This I can agree on. We already can see more incentives and discounts happening since cars are getting so expensive that demand is going back down.

We do need the manufacturers to drop MSRP's. It is not going to happen quickly though

Have MSRPs ever dropped for any manufacturer, ever? The only way they seem to drop price is when inventory sits and piles up. We're already seeing $10k off sticker from the big 3 full size trucks again, just like before 2020.

But I'm in the "no one should be surprised" crowd when it comes to pricing. Just like with turbo engines and smaller displacements/fewer cylinders, yet you still saw posts wishing for a small V8 to get dropped in the 4th gen. We shouldn't be surprised or disappointed by the turbo 4.

Toyota listened. Tacoma enthusiasts wanted an engine that had peak torque at rpms that were more easily achieved. Now you get peak torque at 1700rpm with a nice plateau past 4k rpm and it's like "but the turbo 4 can't handle it and it will blow up at 47,000miles!"

We live in an era of complaining...

So did every other manufacturer who used those air bags at the time. There was no immediate fix and no stock of non affected replacements. And the potential loss from law suits by not saying that was astronomical, so it was a CYA move by the industry. If you're going to apply scrutiny, apply it fairly and evenly.

$41k OTD, so 41 minus 20 would be $21k. And that would be my definition of "cheap" as the OP implied. Now what I would expect as a "normal" price for a stripped 4x4 Tacoma right now would be $28k. Prices are artificially high so that the manufacturers can recoup some of the billions they lost on the EV boondoggle. They want ICE buyers to pay for their mistakes. Add to that the steep drop in used car (trade in) values and it becomes ridiculous to buy now.

Did you pay attention to the last round of labor negotiations with the "Big Three?" Or manufacturers trying to cover losses in the EV and alternative fuels market? Prices are not coming down. Manufacturers do not absorb loss without trying to recoup it somewhere else.

It probably comes with solar powered hand warmers on the trunk to keep your hands warm while you push it.

I'd bet all the wiring is there to plug them or any other accessory in. Every Taco I've seen has the same wiring harness and all you have to do is plug in whatever you want to add. I've done it with fog lights, cruise control, and a back-up camera.

And if they do, you still have interest rates to deal with if you're not fortunate enough to have that kind of cash laying around.
