On the nose you’d mistake it for MGP, but the taste is more complex. I really like it, my personal take is that it’s a bit of a European take on bourbon

If you get a chance to try the double casked sherry finish. It's really damned good. I've got the basic bottle cracked now which I do like. It's a bit single note at first, but seems to open up a bit the longer you sip on it

Found this review..btw, I paid $90 for it, dohhhh

This 2019 release has a pretty interesting story: Conceived by Campari and produced by Wild Turkey as part of their Whiskey Barons Collection (a marketing gimmick to flog some limited editions), it’s been nearly universally praised by critics but balked at by a lot of bourbon fans due to its size (375 ml, so a half-bottle) and a perceived high-price tag of 50 dollars.

So is 100 bucks too much for a full-bottle size of Wild Turkey 6-8-10 and 12-year old blend put together by Eddie Russell?

MSRP: 50 dollars, 107 proof. Tasted neat in glencairn.

    Nose:

Vanilla, orange, maple, cherry, chocolate-covered nuts, oak and spice. A really great nose with a lot of dimensions and showing age that leans closer to the 10–12-year-old range of the blend rather than 6-8.

    Palate:

A big fat orange marmalade (citrus and brown sugar) streak, buffered by oak, maple syrup and baking spices. Nuts and leather are there too.

    Finish:

Medium-long, quite sweet for Turkey, including butterscotch, plus oak, leather and spice.

I think I'll definitely buy a regular bottle after trying this one, and I'll keep an eye out for the double cask. I don't see WW much around here unfortunately though.

The reserve has some interesting notes, I'm curious to see if they come through in their other stuff.

It has one pour missing. I was disappointed, it was hyped as a great wheated and I didn’t like it much.

On a couple of bourbon hunter groups here in CO. Sometimes you get some good scores and trades. Even a few that they had a taste and didn’t like, super cheap. Something to think about if you are bargain hunting or trading.
