The standard load is 1 1/8 oz of #8 or #7 1/2 shot at 2 3/4 DE (1,090 fps).
Because of the volume made, these will be the cheapest.
There are also extra light loads that are subsonic (under 1,000 fps)... though those are pricier.

The 3 Dram 1 oz loads that are sold by the millions every year during dove season are, strictly speaking, not legal for trap.
That's because putting 3 DE behind 1 oz of shot will exceed the velocity limit.
But nobody is gonna get their panties in a twist over it, so long as the shot size is legal.
