My back was so sore this morning I almost had to stop walking from the train station to work this morning. I felt like an old man.

We had a fuckin great time out there. Definitely one of the better Mojave run's with a lot of excitement.

After we entered on Harvard Rd. we aired down and made our way towards Afton Canyon. With all the rain, the sand was really, really thick. 3 of us got stuck at the same time. Luckily we had one 4x4 to pull us out. Right on the other side of After Canyon where you cross under the bridge and drive towards Afton Canyon through the swampy area is where we got stuck. There was hardly any standing water, just thick, sandy mud and most of it was like quicksand. We were not able to locate the bridge that we had to drive under because the swamp was washed out and everything looked different. We sent the 4x4 ahead of us to go scout the area to look for the bridge. As he was coming back he sunk his truck into some super soft mud and his rear end was sunk to his bumper. In2Nite went to pull him out and as he was approaching he sank his truck axle deep. We all cautiously approached and tried pulling them out ourselves. The ground was soft everywhere we started trying different options on pulling them out with no luck. They were sucked in. About 1.5-2 hours into it several full size trucks came driving by and pulled them out easily. It turns out they had gated the bridge area and we ended up having to find another area to cross.

After that we made our way to camp without any problems. When we got to camp is was breezy but the wind picked up hour after hour. By 10:30pm the wind was howling. The camp fire wasn't so fun do to all the smoke and embers flying everywhere. Some of the embers burned holes in our tents. It took me an hour to fall asleep. I woke up at 1:00am with a tent slamming in my face. I stayed awake until the wind died down about 2:30am. You'll see in the pics the damage that the wind did to our tents.

Sunday was a long run home down Powerline Rd. The road was really rough with a lot of rocks and washouts from the rain. We had to drive around some large holes in the road.

Notice this tent later in the pics.

Mike's tent already broke a pole but you can see he has it tied down.

My tent ripped at the seam.

    Mike's tent flattened over night.

The big tent crumpled. If you look close you can see the poles going right through the tent.

We had a blast. John's recap pretty much covered it all. It was great to meet all of you guys. My wife drove the truck to work today and before she left for home she saw the driver's front tire was flat. I took it to the tire shop, turned out the tpms loosened up causing the leak. I'll post some pics of the trip tomorrow. I have to resize them.
