They are big and they are somewhat fragile. Thanks for the offer, but I think that would be a major headache for you.

Yea... I looked into them but, and I don't remember now, there was something off on those so I passed.

Can you feel your bank account getting thinner yet? Skids, sliders, winch, bumper, shocks/springs, 33s (35s better still). :spending::spending::spending:

We're here to help you spend. And then, Pat @pearing, knows this trail...

Woke up this morning @ just after 4. Couldn't figure out why at first. As I'm trying to get back to sleep, I keep hearing this faint thud every couple of minutes...kinda like the screen door didn't latch and the wind keeps pulling it open...and thud, it closes. Fell back asleep for 2 hours. Woke up again, thud...thud. WTH is that? Once I put my hearing aids in, along with the thud, I hear this woosh along with it...the woosh of the water softener recharging, but only for about 10 seconds. Go down to the basement and yup, the water softener has taken a dump. Yay!

At least, they aren't hard to replace and don't cost too much. Getting 1" fittings will be the hardest part. Replaced the one on my renter's side 6 months ago.

You should probably just fabricate some so you don’t rip them off. Then it’s like having another slider and additional protection

Fenders Ordered!!! I found a discount code on top of the Perks money so I think these only cost me $320 including shipping. Nice! This is what they look like. 2" more radius and wider so no poke mud fling monkey business. I like that bumper too, so might use that as a start for mine next year...

Since I was supposed to still be in the Badlands yesterday, it wasn't until Sat afternoon that I remembered that yesterday was Slimy Crud day. The Slimy Crud Memorial Ride is a ride started a whole bunch of years ago by a bunch of Euro bike riders from around the Madison area (including one Peter Egan). They would start the riding year the first Sunday in May and end the year the first Sunday in Oct. The ride was called the Slimy Crud because you never knew what kind of weather you'd get, sometimes you ride in slimy crud. The official ride starts at Pine Bluff (8ish miles west of Madison on Mineral Point Rd) and you take your favorite route to Leland (about 16 mi west of Prairie du Sac).

On a last minute whim, I rode down to Leland since the weather was pretty nice. I wish I had thought to take some pics! It was the biggest crowd I had seen there, I would guess there were over 7000 bikes. Many different makes and models. We're talking a small town...small...2 bars, a welding shop, a community park, a little used gun range and maybe a half-dozen houses. There were bikes parked everywhere, both sides of the road for over 1/4 mile out of town, the gun range, the community park, the overflow parking for the community park. A real sight to see.

Worth the 303 mile ride to get a brat on a beautiful day! Three organizations had food, by the time I got there, the chopped pork sammiches were gone (damn, those are sooooooo good). The woman taking orders for brats/burgers couldn't get any more $20s in her cash drawer, pulled out a stack that must've been $1k and told her husband to put it in his pocket so she had some room.

Oh, the roads down in that area are sooooooooo much fun on a bike! The new tires are officially scrubbed-in now.
