I have a '17 limited, and I'm systematically replacing all of the chrome with black. I've got the black tail lights, black tailgate inserts, black badges, black sequential mirror blinkers, black direct-replacement mirror covers.

All that's left is the grill, the headlights, the fog lights, and the door handle inserts.

Everything else is getting replaced with black, but I'm up in the air whether the door handle inserts should be black or color matched. I think black would look pretty sick.

    The point of the post:
But I honestly cannot locate the part number or name for those inserts. Maybe it just comes as an entire piece? That can't be the case, right? Seems like toyota sells every single constituent part separately.

I don't want to plastidip them, because I think they'll be handled too much (heh heh heh). I did the badges that way, and after roughly 20 light coats and 5 days.... so far so good.

All chrome pieces I did not want, I removed, soaked in strong bleach for a long time to remove the chrome from the plastic. Sanded lightly, painted my chosen color, top clear coated with a flat finish and reassembled.

My painted parts are wearing much better than Toyota's interior painted panels. I will soon be doing some of those to coverup or remove all the wear points.

We're the chrome handle inserts easy to remove? Plastic spudger? What'd you use?

I only eliminated the interior chrome. Know nothing about the trim you have under the outside door handles.
