So shop crew, you may notice that I am not here as much right now. You are probably glad too lol!
For the next few weeks, at night, I am proofreading and editing a technical paper (I did not write it, my english and grammar is better than his) that will be presented at the next SAE conference. Just helping a friend and I have to be in the right frame of mind when I start reading.i can't do much more than an hour a night (and it takes me 30 minutes to catch up) so I am trying to finish it.
So, if you need me tag me for the next little while. And no, my name will be confined to "thanks for the friends that helped" yada yada.
However, I did present a white paper to the SAE back in 1995!

I took the no money/no hours option -- works good except the "no money" part.

    :sadviolin:

    Update @six5crèéd ?

Seems to be much "cloak and dagger" intrigue going on in the thread.

    Color me interested.

I'll add to the fire, a new project is on the horizon -- for once it isn't junk and it isn't a mower.

When my wife wrote her dissertation, she started off wanting me to read it over and critique it for grammar. Turned out that her advisor did that, instead.

Twelve years later and I couldn't even tell you what it was on, only that she was shooting for the shortest dissertation the program had ever had.

Good luck with the proofreading. :fistbump:

Good Morning everyone, I hope you have the greatest Tuesday ever!

Who here thinks @six5crèéd has a new job? I think it would be a hard decision after all the time he’s been at the current place and all the opportunities it presents.

    But then again, money talks!

Good morning friends! Hope yawl all have an amazing Tuesday :hattip:

I went by and met with the guy over the project yesterday for an hour and twenty minutes. His brother in law owns the company and is the one who wanted me to go by and look around. The guy I talked to seemed excited for me to work there and I may be excited about the opportunity if it works out.

They bought a building and are building a saw mill in it to cut logs into pallet boards to be shipped to their other facilities that assemble them. There will also be a section that shreds old pallets and separates the wood and nails.

They have a start on the project and have a couple welding machines, a lathe, and a Bridgeport mill. He showed me where the machines will be, basically a small machine shop on site for when things need to be fixed.

Right now they have a start and a few people working there, there is a lot of welding that has to be done.

I'm gonna talk with the owner and see what he has to say. I told my wife it's the only interview I've ever been to where I wasn't nervous.

Yeah, best to do it when it’s new. Once Folks walk on it some I wouldn’t want to eat off it. Wax paper helps.

This might be a good opportunity for you. I know you are very loyal to your current employer and I understand that. Although I'm sure that commute you got is tiring. I used to do 45-50 minutes one way and I hated it.

I also know money isn't everything, but in current times it is getting rough. I'm debating jumping ship myself as they cannot give us proper raises every year.
