i will say, growing up - there were loaded guns everywhere at everyones house, in everyones truck even at school
we kids knew to not fuck with them so it wasn't an issue
i currently know at least 5 households with young children that have taught their kids this....and thus it is not a concern
if you can teach a kid to not run around a parking lot, you can teach them to not mess with a firearm

yesterday while i was drivin, i heard an advert where Durham is giving away free gun locks/gun safes so that your kids don't accidentally shoot XXX
the ad made it sound like if you didn't secure your firearm, it was just a matter of time till it spontaneously went off and killed a family member, which is absurd. This is just propaganda to make the general public think guns are scary and dangerous..
what is scary and dangerous are the people who have kids and don't bother to teach them right/wrong/rules/discipline..

as my firearms instructor said, keep your finger off the bang button and it'll be fine
his 6yr old even knows this!
