congrats! so far ive been super impressed with the Wright mower. Rode Hustlers for 20+ years.. all commercial/industrials.... but when Wright went to that 40hp EFI motor & floating suspension seat? had to have one! mines not clean like yours though. There is a pic of mine about 400pages back. lol

now anybody else got one of these yet? its called a Siligun. its basically a tiny caulking gun for full size tubes.
what i can tell you so far is that it squeezes good & makes the flow as advertised. It does fit in smaller places.

what it doesnt do? carboard tubes. gotta be plastic tubes to use it.PXL_20240504_214339897~2.jpg

That is a cool gadget.

Kind of like a Dremel, you don't need it often but when you do nothing else works as well.

It seems crazy, but I don't think I've ever used a zero-turn. We have a couple Ferris machines at work - the grounds guys mow around 50 acres a week with them between our sites. I don't think they've been especially reliable, so I'm not sure why they keep going with them (these replaced two older ones a couple years ago) - especially when there is a good Scag dealer closer to us than the Ferris dealer.

I mowed at home with an x500 last year - Kubota BX this year. I only have 2/3 of an acre, probably about 1/2 acre of lawn once you subtract the house, garage, and part of the river that's technically on the property. So even the little BX is overkill for me. I do like that it maneuvers similarly to my x500 with the loader off, and power steering is a dream!

    On the mower front.....

Been thinking about going to a Steiner/Ventrac for the wife.
She is not allowed on a high speed ZXT... She hits EVERYTHING.
But on a crawler? Much better chance stuff survives.

And she decided that I need a bush hog for the excavator! Hell yes!

    Nice!

Harbor Freight used to have a nice Kawasaki clone engine but they stopped carrying it.

A customer asked if I could repair an aluminum canoe. Said I never had, but was willing to try.

Back story: his bud and him were night fishing for trout on the Au Sable. Boat was half assed tied into the bed of the truck. Had lots of beer in us, listening to LZ cranked all the way to 11. Commercial came on the radio and they heard a strange noise.

The noise was the canoe getting dragged for several hundred yards of back roads.

My job was to just make it float.

Used cut off wheel on my hand grinder to remove the carnage.

    upload_2024-5-7_11-21-10.png

Of course the damage extended under the rear seat. Those rivets needed drilled out to make that happen.

Needed to make a pattern. Taped some butcher paper to the hull and ran my grimy thumb around edge. Cut a pattern 2" bigger to apply to the new alloy.

New alloy being temporarily attached with bolts. Still need to apply the gasket sealer. I used Dow Corning 732 silicone.

The story I got is this is a rare square back and has been in the family. I did tell him he would be better off scraping it.
