    Lost a dang fish today

Had noticed one swimming slowly away from the bunch; quarantined it only to realize it looks like it had tried to eat something big. Had its jaw locked open as if stuck.

Doesn't surprise me really. Fish don't normally eat within the first few days of being rehomed but yesterday when I got them acclimated they were voracious little eaters when feeding my other two.

Probably took a gravel piece or something since they're pretty small.

Looking to replace my LBJ on my 01 and heard that the later in the year built ones had a design change? How to tell which ones I need. I believe mine was built 08/01.

Yours has the lbj dust cover, pretty sure that's the only difference. They're all still compatible afaik

I don't think it was a design change to the lower ball joint component, there was a recall due to a manufacturing defect. As long as you're picking up genuine Toyota ball joints, you're good to go. These are really something to source from a well vetted vendor and not roll the dice on an ebay deal thats too good to pass up. Get new bolts as well.

The often repeated part numbers come with new bolts.

The often repeated kit part number doesn't though, and its a bit cheaper (by more than just the price of bolts)

This will tell you everything you need to know

Ourisman/McGeorge Toyota is usually the cheapest parts dealer in the US these days, I'd check there and local dealer prices first.

Starting some preliminary planning on a road trip with the gf.
Looking to go from Phx to North Rim GC, to Zion and then Bryce Canyon, to Salt Lake, to Yellowstone, to Grand Tetons, To maybe Moab and back home.

Mostly going to be a checking off bucket list National Parks type trip, but I really want to hit some trails on the way. Nothing too crazy, but some adventure. Planning on 2 nights dispersed camping/boondocking, then a hotel for a night and repeat.

Maybe ~7 days total, still figuring out logistically how much time we'll want to have everywhere and if/what we want to cut back to spend more time in each spot.. Still very early planning atm.

Anyone have some suggestions for must-see offroad trails in and around these areas?

I'm pretty limited in my trail knowledge outside AZ, so I'm not really sure where to start.

You can probably cross Salt Lake off the list, there ain't much to see but a dusty puddle and some of the most boring food and drink in the US. The rest I've been to and are a treat, lots of good resources in my various friends' trip reports and pictures.

Moab has trails, both scenic and wheeling with great camping not far from that giant dinosaur (Moab Giants)

Gonna be hard to get folks to cough up camping spots publicly.

Also to Zane's point, if you want to see Salt lake..

There, now you've seen it and can cross it off the list.
