I was at 22. All because of my wife. I brought nothing to the table.

I didn't, either. I did try to get a credit card through Besy Buy when I was 18 or 19 to buy a TV. They rejected me so I saved up the money for 2 months and bought it from Sears instead. :D

I got my first credit card when someone called me with a "you are pre-qualified" offer.
As I worked 12 hour night shifts I was in bed, no answer machines back then.

On phone and they are blathering away about all the great benefits :blahblah: and I groggily say -
    "does it cost me anything"
    "no"
"then send it" and hung up.

They sent the credit card.

DG is a big sponsor for the Opry. Whenever I get tickets I always have a chuckle when their ad is read. They pick a state and tell you a little about it and how many DG stores are in that state.

Seriously I paid off my tractor last month. Yesterday I got the first notification of the account being closed. It knocked 62 points off my score.

Meanwhile, the gobmint allows venture capitalists to buy up swaths of hospitals then run them into the ground while reaping exorbitant, obscene millions…

My son was born in a Steward owned hospital pretty close to where I live. I can't complain about much there but there definitely was some concern leading up to it about whether or not it would be operational when it came time to deliver.

Man just offered me $1.50 more an hour than I'm making now, been here 28+ years and it'll cut my driving time in half. I told him I'll let him know something tomorrow.

Meanwhile I haven’t used this setup since 2013 the boss said, it’s like starting over cause I don’t remember what I did then. Saved the 3/8” plate with holes in it. The stainless is bolted to it with studs welded to it on the bottom.

I like it, but do they have any other benefits, 401K, health ins? The time you get back from your commute is certainly worth something.

Oh yeah, I remember hearing about that being a possibility, guess it's a reality now. Fuck that noise. Why the F would I bust my balls off to get a "decent" credit score only to get shafted for it. I guess I'll have to keep my current house and rent it when I ultimately move, turn it into a rental property. Get a cheap credit card, destroy my credit. Finance my next home without paying the 3200 additional fee then turn and sell my first house. Use that as a huge post-down payment to nuke the shitty APR I'd have on that "new" house or just keep the rental and charge double and a half what my mortgage payment is and use that extra scratch to pay down the horrible interest rate on my "new" home due to having shit credit because I had to nuke it in the first place... :jpow: Why cant we have someone in office that understands the concepts of second and third order consequences? Socialism doesn't work, stop trying to make it work, it's never worked, it never will work. Let's tax the middle class even more - SMDH. On a separate note, holy shit Batman, does USAtoday have enough ads? Makes me really miss not having Brave browser at work with it's built in adblocker, it also get rid of those annoying pre and midroll YouTube ads. Just sayin'.

I’m sure you have the list but here are some rhetorical questions for comparison between the 2:
    Benefits not otherwise listed below
    Health/Dental Plans
Retirement and their contributions to it
    Work environment
    Coworkers
    Long-term viability
    Vacation, sick, holiday time

Good Luck! Always nice to have an offer

    Agree.
You would be giving up long term security, privilege and they want you.

Make the move worth the risk.

Also are you in charge of the shop or is there a boss to report to.

If so, what kind of experience does he have, can he do your job?

I'm glad you and your wife didn't encounter any issues there

The story I heard this morning on the natl. news wasn't so rosy and cited a case where medical equipment was repossessed due to non-payment at one of their hospitals resulting in a tragic outcome.

Im with Bob on this, its already $1.50 more but they prob dont know that. Just tell them round up the .50cts. Worst they say is no, and you still better off with the gas and time you save
