My friend in the Bay Area that has a 2010 FJ long travel, supercharged, 35’s and way more just picked up an original/stock 2007 FJ from the North Bay that only had 53k miles!

EDIT: Ouch, turns out the seller lied to him about having current reg/tags and faked them. It has back-fees and potential other issues.

that is technically illegal that they did that. they have to prove that it is not smog legal by looking it up. he was a lazy tech.
edit, maybe not illegal but definitely lazy.

It was the end of the day on Saturday, so I'll give him that. He's usually pretty cool, and has passed borderline things for me before.
I find it comical how a literal EO from CARB is not enough proof, but that a sticker that can be printed is where CARB draws the line in the sand.

Between wanting to go fuel cell eventually and now that the truck is old enough, I'm tempted to do a Montana LLC registration and not worry about it again, or so it seems.
    Anyone done that route before?

I did my research on it and while technically legal police can send you to court again and again to prove the legality of the loophole of they want.

Got my permanent Montana license tags. Truck’s old enough I no longer need to pay registration fees as long as I own it.

To many people were trying this with expensive cars in CA to avoid taxes and registration. CA is aware and doesn't like it at all. They will try and frick on you. Commifornia wants it's money.

Damn, yours is only 15 years @henryp ?! That's nice. It's 25 here and that's what I did for my little commuter 86 Pickup. Historic plate (permanent registration) with no emissions testing. :D

Just got off the phone with Magnusen, I was told that the BullyDog tuners have the "TRD Tune" in them.

They convert to the TRD S/C cal id, but the data I’ve collected tells me they’re definitely not running the OE TRD Calibration.

Aren’t they the opposite of the rich TRD tune - dangerously lean?

    That would be under WOT.

    Let me clarify.
14.7 is target for idle or cruising.
TRD Tune at WOT results in 10.0-10.5
Ideal is ~11.0 WOT for these motors
Bully Dog as Justin stated is lean at ~12.2 WOT

More fuel efficient at the expense of your motor.

I’m like 9 WOT and a 2.85” pulley and the TRD tune.

Also getting some leads for this darn CARB sticker. All roads lead back to the dealer being the correct people to order this if possible.
I’ll update when I get an answer from my parts guy. And if I get a sticker I’ll have a graphics company make hundreds of them.
