What tools are needed for the installation of the TRD 6-speed manual shift knob? Also are there any installation tricks & tips that I should know about?

test to see what wrenches you need for the counter nut
The knob spins off left by hand besides that

it’s tricky to put back centered

    This knob?

I didn't like having the counter nut and didn't install it. I think I used something like bits of a napkin inside the knob and screwed it on tight. I put in just enough so the knob was centered and tight enough to not loosen while driving.

The quick Shifter is anything but "Quick", but is a hell of a lot better than the stock shifter!

I'm asking about the knob, not the TRD short shifter.

Can’t tell you how many times that nut cut or jammed my fingers
Only ever had manual. No other manual vehicle I’ve had ever had an exposed hex edges but like that

German for example you’ll see a rod, non threaded, maybe grooved
    Shift knob slides onto it
Then $1 oetiker clamp holds it on hidden underneath boot or something and generally stays on.
