Depends, I haven't looked but my buddy was checking out trucks in MA and not much luck finding much less buying one. Where are you located?

With respect of course, that's probably b/c it's an SR5. Everyone just about out there wants all the toys. That said I don't so good for me if I can find a vehicle that's more basic..

And I said the same, price in general plus the market plus the wariness of some re the first year of a new gen could all come together just right

Yep my exact view as well. Went to test drive a 4Runner about hearing about how much "better" it was on this forum. It was the same ol dogshit and on top of that with a 1990s rat fur headliner

the 3.5 out of the 3rd gen is a SLUG. Unless you rev it over 4k everywhere you go. Yea it shifts faster but then has to down shift all the time to make enough power to accelerate lol.

Toyota should have kept that leaky car motor in the camry.

No disagreement that the lack of torque on the 2GR-FKS is an issue, but I much prefer a 6AT that can downshift and get moving instead of the 1UR-FE/5AT that holds gears for way too long while going nowhere. 1UR-FE with a 6AT would have probably been the best of the three IMO.

I live in the PNW, and had initially tried to buy the latest Tundra for the last few years. I clearly remember how I'd finish up a test drive, and when I parked it, there would be 2 or more interested parties flocking over to see it, and basically trying to get into the truck before I even got out.

People were desperate, and the dealers wouldn't budge off of ADM.
At end of 2023, things were better, no ADM, but kinda tough negotiating to get below MSRP.

Now, I noticed that the same dealership keeps adding Tacomas to the front lot. It seems they aren't selling. "Can't be" I thought....but just checked their website, they have 46 new Tacomas available, I'd say most of them actually on their property, of course some in transit too.

And most are being offered with a "dealer adjustment" I haven't seen in a while: pricing below MSRP.
    Wow.

Maybe people can negotiate these down far below MSRP, where they belong?

I kinda feel bad because I caved and bought a Titan Pro-4x last year for a super good deal, I could've sworn these Tacomas would've been rare and marked up, but I was wrong. Mexico is cranking them out! And it really does feel like no one is buying.

Sucks because I paid cash for my Titan, which I could have done for a deeply discounted Tacoma too, no worries about interest rates. Good thing I love my new truck, but the Tacoma rollout totally didn't go the way I expected....of course!

So people really think the new tacoma will be a dud and not sell? That's never happened. It won't happen this time either.

And I never liked the turd gen but they still sold.

Sorry but a brand new Tacoma model like this rotting on dealer lots within months of release has in fact, never happened for Toyota before

It's only been on sale for a few months and not even the complete model line. Accurate sales numbers for the complete line would be late 2025 early 2026.

    I don't think it'll be a dud.

The market is correcting, it's a bad time to introduce a significantly more expensive new model. It's an awesome truck, but a tough pill to swallow at this point in time.

If I hadn't bought my current truck recently, I'd be at a Toyota dealership waving cash around a low ball offer on a TRD OR long bed. It's not too expensive if they knock $5k off of MSRP.... which nowadays seems possible

Roland Toyota here has 46. And in my area Tacomas are definitely the most popular mid size truck. Fairly affluent here, too.

You deal with scumbag distributors in Florida - guarantee they’re holding inventory back

So you think 10 sitting on the lot isn’t a lot?

there were four on the lot in Warsaw, Indiana a few days ago.

I had a really hard time leaving there without trading my Tacoma on a new tundra.
