Ask Tim , I'm not a youtuber or American. He just says he has to buy 1 new truck a year for tax write offs

 

I'm not a tax expert but I cringe whenever I hear people say they will "write it off as a business expense". The vehicle expense reduces your gross income so you pay less taxes. If you write off $10,000 in vehicle expenses and you had $10,000 in business income then you saved 10-24% of 10K, not 10K. I'm sure they are claiming their vehicle as a business expense since they make money off of you tube but it's probably also used for personal use. You can't deduct all of it.

 

Like I said though I'm Not an American. For all I know it's a state rule where he lives . I'm sure if people ask him on his website he would answer...seems like a really nice guy

I was talking about the TH and ADM, which I see was already addressed in later comments. If you can find one at TSRP or MSRP with minimal to no PIO/DIO's, you should jump on it if it's your thing.


Unrelated, but I'm just blown away by the 66 months at 8.9% for the low price of $1211 though. Nevermind the 48 mos. @ 8.05% for $1540. All with $6500 down.

$57k for a non premium off road hybrid. Toyota has lost it. My wifes 2023 RX350h premium was less.

 

There are a few different things that can apply and be beneficial to a YouTube business regarding vehicles.

There is also the deduction over 6000 lbs deduction for business...(which may have expired by now I am not sure)

*Trucks vans and SUVs as defined in the IRS Code with a GVWR over 6,000 lbs and placed in service during 201 qualify for immediate depreciation deductions of up to 100% of the purchase price.

Looks like this one has a max write-off of $28,900 in 2023. If I was gonna have to write a check one way or the other to the tax thieves I would 100% rather put 28K towards a new truck than write the check to them.

This is the one a lot of construction company owners use to drop 80K in Dec on a new truck every year and drive what they would otherwise have given to the tax thieves.

 

I just don't see the value in that. Not knocking anyone else's choices, but I can spend a whole lot less and get more truck elsewhere IMO.
