How safe to drive with bad body mount bushing?

Just pulled into the driveway and heard a metallic pop/clank. Drove it back and fourth and got it to repeat a few times. After a quick bit of research, I’m suspecting the body mount bushings. Assuming I’m correct, how safe is it to put some miles on? I’m supposed to be leaving for a pretty important ~700 mil round trip shortly…. TIA

I had a broken cab mount that I had to drive with for a couple hundred miles. That went fine too.

 

You haven’t provided enough information to get a good answer, but I think you are likely worrying about nothing.

 

Almost similar clank noise on driver side specially in bumps.. got use to it after few months driving, its like music to me now..

 

I was going to comment on OPs thorough documentation on the problem and his statement. We can see it, hear it - I can almost feel it. How could you document a suspected issue better - on a web board?

I was thinking this; and then I arrived at your comment above. It seems you are on the opposite end of perspective on this.

Have you read other's questions on this board? Some of the mysteries are so poorly described, they would befuddle Mr. S. Holmes.

And STILL - the members on this board manage to solve the great majority of the issues!

Is this a 100% guaranteed answer? - Of course, it certainly is not... - But it is likely. No one has so far offered an alternative.

The OP said he heard a noise of unknown origin, theorized about its cause, and asked if the truck is safe to drive. I can’t give a good answer about the safety of the truck without knowing the root cause of noise including at the very least a picture.

I’m an engineer. I deal with problem reports on a daily basis. I know that I need to know more information to give a useful recommendation.

I think the OP’s truck is probably safe to drive, but I qualified my opinion is based on limited information.
