    Don't worry I'll make it a maybe.
This year will be a lot more laid back, come and go from a lake front, free to use, boondocking spot

LOL I'll send that to my wife and tell her we don't have a choice now.

But in all seriousness we don't have anything on that books that part of August and I had wanted to get up there this year with the kids so might as well coordinate with the group. We'd be the wife and I, two boys 3 and almost 2, and a dog. Oh and will have a trailer behind us. We're basically a traveling circus by this point.

We've got a guy with a nissan frontier who IS a circus, so you're good!

Yeah just let us know. We're going up whatever Friday is listed as being there, Matt and I hitting a day in OOB then going up Saturday (I think, I can't remember anymore), then there through the next weekend chillin' lakeside.

When it gets closer I'll set up a PM with everyone for locations and to figure out headcount and timing.

re: Kids - we'll be about 30-45 minutes from the nearest town, Greenville, ME. It's a real town, with a stoplight and everything. Google says it's 2h:45m up to the ghost trains from the campsite.

No, the real question is which tent comes

 I thought there was one at that main intersection in Greenville!
    Nevermind, no stoplights!

I havent decided if I’m bringing the trailer or not, if I do, I can bring an extra tent and rent it. In all seriousness, I am considering hauling up the trailer, which means possibly a smoker.

I have my tabletop I can bring, but it needs 120V (I THINK it can run on 12V somehow?). Doesn't draw much once it's heated up.

If you're there the whole week, yeah why not. Unhook it when you get there. I'm bringing the RTT, I'll probably have the platform in, AND have my hammock, and that's just sleeping arrangements.

I'm 50/50 on one of these :spy:

My buddy has a nice big charcoal one that I believe we had up there once. I’m also trying to get him to come up, he is a chef and we love to hang by the smoker all day keeping the fluids flowing and the smoke rolling while keeping the smoker going.

and I have a small one that can fit about 6 burger or so.

    I forgot I have a fridge now. Oh....This won't end well.

I'll have my two burner, couple cast irons/carbon steel pans, and my fire pit w/ a cooking grate too.

Now this camping trip is headed in the right direction.

Could be a fat and happy time.

Not sure if you have seen the other side of the Spencer sites, but I’m hoping we can acquire one of the sites on the water to hang, and then the group camps in the pit part, which is about 2 or 3 minutes walking to the water. Then we have day on the water and night up in the pit part for fire and to be away from others.

And if anyone uses Gaia and wants to import the official NMW map into Gaia let me know and I'll send you the link to add it as a custom map source.

That could work - we could have a couple people on the water as a campsite spot. I'd be willing, I'm up there the whole time. Dog is TBD. That sounds like a plan to me though....

I use Gaia, but I don't understand 99% of what you said

    upload_2024-5-10_11-8-41.png

All (or most) of those symbols was an import from the NMW website for campsite locations and some other stuff, but there are no routes/roads from the NMW website. I'm not sure if there's a way to import their map as a map layer in gaia?

    https://northmainewoods.org/maps/map/

I am NOT a gaia pro, so I am probably the wrong person to ask. Mine is a chaotic abomination of routes and trip notes scattered in and out of folders

I’ll take a copy, I’m still trying to figure my map programs, I think I have 3 different once I’m trying to figure out.
