What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Everyone making intercoolers fit said to remove the bar, I tried that without even shutting the hood and flexed it easily by hand, it's why I have a water to air IC now with a thin heat exchanger.

 

I didn't even know those water air coolers were a thing until I saw you mocking that up. What a thing of beauty

 

I've had areocatch hood pins for years without complaints, but they're mounted off my fabbed core support. Not sure I would trust running the pins through the warm butter factory sheet metal.

Filled the door surround weatherstrips with backer rod - no more door rattle!

 

old shower curtain re purposed.. had to adjust my lock actuator, was opening but not locking completely.

 

That is smart. Tho I’ve always wondered how important those really are. Is it like a dust shield or something?

 

Got the front cross member removed and the cancer rust cut out this evening. Next step is cleaning out the inside of the frame and removing all the loose surface rust. Then a coat of rust conversion.

 

How do you adjust the actuator?

these are aftermarket ones, not oem. I had it at about a 15 degree slant and it wasnt pulling down straight so i flipped it and drilled a better hole so it was straighter, now it locks fully. its this kit: https://www.a1electric.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=AEOS&Product_Code=W01TW-KEY

 

Enhanced my reverse lights using a couple of rock lights. I bypassed the switch circuit and tapped into the truck's reverse light circuit. I light circuit is ran from my "seat delete" electrical cabinet and through the factory loom grommet that is under the driver's side seat. Waiting for darkness to test.

One at each side, under the bumper.


Power and relay are located in the lower section of my seat delete cabinet.
