They are actually - they are in fact D-rings attached to the frame and serve as very FUNCTIONAL recovery points.

Why do you want to make personal insults? But no they are not just for looks - God, I hope we all know that lol.

 

My take is how long does it take to attach a D-ring when you need it? Driving around with nipple rings reminds me of the people in SoCal who drive around with surfboards on their car but never go in the water. Oh well. Can't wait till we start seeing fully chromed nipple rings.

I’m pretty sure people that leave colorful D rings installed constantly are more concerned about appearance than the debatable functionality.
There’s lots of posts here discussing the use of the factory tow hook for kinetic recovery, and adding demon brackets to the same spot with the same bolts doesn’t change very much. Especially if you got some Amazon special to mount the nipple rings

 

I saw a bro-ed out Cummins the other day with a d-ring on the trailer hitch that was literally the size of a toilet seat

 

I don't believe that's true. Transport trucks have marker lights on them. But say something like a box truck doesn't and is wider than a Ford Raptor. It's only an appearance thing. Like guys adding a bunch of marker and clearance lights on their dually to make it look more like a transport truck because they got a fifth wheel for pulling their massive camper.

 

I thought the grille marker lights were cool when I first bought my truck late Oct '23. But after a month and 3 of the 4 started flickering and failing. I removed them. Also bought the demon hook brackets with shackles, never ended up putting them on my truck. Sold them and the other marker lights I got to replace the ones that failed as the more I looked at it the more I thought it was super gay.

 

My first set had some water leaks in one of the lights and shorted some out.

I got another set of smoked ambers and have not had any issues.

They look good, in my opinion!

 

Raptor barely hits DOT regulations for marker lights. The front and ass end are as wide as a dualie.

Government regulation is 80 inches, the Raptor just squeaks under a quarter inch.
