My recent and most successful image of M81 and M82. 925 10 second subs, Vespera Classic, Bortle 6, CovalENS mosaic, no filter. The stacked tiff was stretched and processed in Siril (photometric color calibration, GHST, background extraction, and color saturation), Affinity Photo 2 and Topaz plugin.

Here’s a few pictures of the aurora from the Pensacola, FL area, 30*N. It was naked eye visible as a faint red glow that increased and decreased in intensity, averted vision helped catch it. A 3 second exposure with the iPhone gave these results.

@jwctaco Hi Jim. I find it humorous that I always see the same names popping up in different threads. It’s like there are only about 100 of us on here and the rest are a one time fly-by post or bots lol.

This was from my backyard in South Coast BC last night , not the greatest pic but what you see in the picture is what you could see naked eye , it was pretty cool . Purple and green vanes coming and going

A fundamental ignorance or willful pandering?

Any time we have a change in the wx, one of the two of them seem to start their remarks with "due to climate change" but what's ironic is space weather probably has more to do with weather than either of the two of them realize :) I should get my Nextar 8 out and photograph the sun--the activity has been intense!

I've listened to a couple of presentations that make you wonder and that may offer clues. For example, Venus and Mars are very different from Earth yet there is some evidence Venus was once like Earth and that solar activity may have played a part in it's evolution. There's also a correlation between increasing planetary heat and methane and CO2 release. There's lots more to it of course. But how solar storms cause heating in the atmosphere or solar minimums can increase cosmic rays creating cloudier conditions is also really interesting.
