    Hello.

For those that can compare - Is the 4th gen 'easier' to get in and out of compared to the 3rd gen? As a guy in his 50's that might be something I should consider. It seems like I have to 'duck' my head down a bit to get into the 2023 Tacoma. I have sat in both, but it was only for a brief period -- so I thought I would try and get some advice/thoughts.

    Thanks all.

We have a 2020 Pro, every time I get in that thing I knock myself unconscious if I don't duck.

That issue is fixed with the 4th gen. Sheldon Brown confirmed that it was an issue with the 3rd gen, and resolved in the 4th gen.

Now the rear seat in the 4th gen, that's a different issue. They should have made it a four door/two seater with a flat storage platform in the back. The rear seats are worthless for adults.

Well I'm in your age zip and cant really comment on 3G comparison as I'm coming from 1G but the 4G is definitely taller than both. For me its taken a bit of getting used to, especially since they decide to delete the sh*t handle on the drivers side which I unconscoiusly reach for, but its not like I'm struggling to get in and out. Just different. Shouldnt impact the decision making process imo.

Hello and thank you for the responses! Ughh, I feel down just having to think about these things. But, I guess that is just reality. I've got caught up in paying attention to other things, features, visibility, etc. that I have glossed right over the ease of getting in and out of the trucks.

Hopefully this week I will get to sit in both side by side and evaluate. I did sit in a 4th Gen SR5 and it felt 'fairly' easy to get in and out of (testing several times) and I heard that has been the case for most.

    Again, thank you all.

First gen seat let you slide out and even with 31.5 tires you were good, 3rd gen always cracked my head and I'm not tall 4th gen is taller no head cracking, legs need to really stretch to get to the ground more than a 4runner and if your short legged that seat will get a good hold of your nards each time. Don't think the sr5 manual seat goes as far ahead as the automatic seats too.
