Have you checked recently? I just put in a random Lehigh Valley address and Starlink says it’s available. You can also get the mobile or roam version regardless of availability for residential systems in your area.

Crazy how many areas look to be on the waitlist:
    https://www.starlink.com/map

In any case, @Bivouac , have your ordered the equipment yet? Maybe your local Home Depot will have it?

I am holding off I have been burned a few times in the past.

Phone company tells me I can get DSL buy all the hardware only to be told we are sorry I doubt DSL will ever get to your area .

Satellite that failed as well I would need to cut down the neighbors trees or build a 100' tower for the dish.

Besides I am trying to Sell everything live in a 4Runner.

Can't believe it (yes I can), but I forgot to update y'all about my setup!

Yeah, it's an Amazon flagpole with an adapter from a guy that calls his business "Remotely Connected". This has us up and running for now. I'm hoping to score a deal on a Rohn tower of some kind to make things more permanent. Until then, my questionable bonding of the segmented flag pole with a definitely solid earth connection will have to do.

Yeah, that’s quite the setup

Curious, did you cut and splice the cable from the dish to the router? That hole in the soffit wouldn’t accommodate the straight connector.

    Nope!

Took down the old soffit vent that had destroyed scrim and replaced it with that shiny new one. In the process, I notched the cable hole out for the install.

It was taken from Elon’s annual presentation. I posted that in the Space and Science thread. I think I remember it being animated, active sites popping up during the course of last year. I could be wrong though.

The presentation was by SpX groups such as Falcon 9, Dragon, Starlink, Starship…. Shouldn’t take much to scroll through to find it.

There is an interactive app- Starlink Watch - that lets you plug in your location and shows which satellites are connecting to your dish in real time.

I think the original round dish was better at melting through snow. Last night when it was really thick, wet and heavy I actually lost service for a few hours. Ended up stowing the dish so the inch thick of slop would slide off and then it started working again. About 15” of wet heavy snow over the last 12 hours.

So this sucks, a $30 monthly bump bringing the total to $1,440 for the year:

It also indicates more subscribers in my rural county.

I’m still paying $145 for my grandfathered portability plan.

Hm, i got this same price increase over a year ago. Fortunately, finally got fiber internet in our development last fall. I feel like I'm back in the 21st century finally, after 8 years of 3Mbps DSL and year and a half of 50Mbps (average) Starlink.
