Turn signal lights or in the mirrors, not the grill.

He was also referring to three different lights. The turn signals, the hitch lights, and the DRL’s. The DRL’s are located in the headlights, not the grills. He never mentioned the grill lights.

Mostly electrical shit that nobody cares about.
This was supposed to be a post about me installing my new Bilstein 5100s with 1.5" lift on the front. But I ran into a bit of a hiccup with the lower control arm. You guessed it, the cam seized to the inner bushing sleeve. It's 82k miles old.

    20240511_160412.jpg

I'm well aware of the issues with these cams/bolts, I just didn't think that it would be this bad on a six year old truck. 20240511_160422.jpg

I tried everything. Even made a DIY puller out of pipe and threaded rod. Wouldn't budge a millimeter. So after hours of struggling I cut it off. 20240511_171022.jpg

As for the bushing, it seemed fine. Same with the lower ball joint and control arm itself. I'm going to keep them until the ball joint fails. Here's how I got the old cam sleeve out. 20240511_182608.jpg

Now I'm just waiting on a replacement $20 cam bolt. In the meantime maybe I'll do my ECGS bushing. Everything is already torn apart for it. Stay tuned for the next post.

That would make his posts far less interesting.

Personally when I did have OEM halogen headlights and put in LED bulbs I loved the output and had no issues but like I said I have aftermarket headlights now and love the output

Yeah but I wasn’t referring to those as DRL’s.

Do you have Toyota Connected Services? The new trucks come with a year for free, then you can pay or not pay. One service is for safety and will call emergency services; another gives you the ability to see the status of your truck remotely (remote start from anywhere, lock/unlock doors, etc.). One of those may be snitching on you.
I kept the service active and both my app and my head unit have told me about the axle recall.

I do have the app, but I don’t see a setting in there that be changed to stop it.
