I'd never get a quad again they are pointless to me and boring lol. But that is a race bike for Enduro and such like that. But 10k ya no lol
Ya and 10k for a wr to me is nuts like shit it's a dirtbike not a street bike... But prices be crazy!
Haha I love it but the price nope!

Hard to carry a deer/caribou/moose/etc or plow a driveway on a dirt bike. Tons of country out here that a dirt bike just couldn’t make it in unless you’re a professional rider but a quad gets you there and back safely. Completely different uses for the two in my mind.

rotated tires changed oil threw out the old air freshener.
Do you feel it's as good or better than a KLR?

I tend to have more enjoyment on a quad than a dirtbike. I ride my trx400 more than anything else. Dirt related

I got the KLX home yesterday...

and tore into her this morning.
... I pulled the seat, plastics, and tank. Fuel lines were a little dry rotted, so the main line kinked and cracked and started gushing gas.
Plug looks "acceptable" but it's a little too brown and not an exact-to-spec NGK CPR8EB-9... so I'll pick that up tomorrow. That's not a cracked head... just a little string of rubber from the plug bushing. Whew...

OH LOOKIE HERE... Pivot Pegz! Nice bonus!

Needs a couple of sprocket bolts... ya think?!?

Time for the spring oil change, chain clean and lube and a bath today. It's definitely riding season here hitting 80 this weekend.

Also they just started allowing us to park bikes inside the gate without a parking pass at work so that will save me a 5-8min walk out when I don't carpool with the wife.

Well I did the smart thing and spent today’s nice riding weather working on the bike. Altrider high fender kit and headlight guard, adjustable kickstand and Hyperpro heavy spring kit. Bike is so much better with spring meant for my weight. Waiting on the paint to dry on the crash bars and then they will go on along with the skid plate. Also have an ABS dongle that should be here any day. Almost fully dirt prepped for the summer.

On my way home from a great ride with my brother , niece and nephew. Did some awesome single track to the top of the hill to get some awesome views. Lots of trails with the quads and the klx’s . Had a great time. Just sitting in line at the ferry. Here are the pics of my day. Also we were the only ones there. I mean no one!!:bikewheelie2::bikewhoops:

I prefer the higher ground clearance of the XR650. The XR has more of a dirtbike feel & look to it compared to the KLR. And I'm a Honda guy. I rode cr500's for many years.

I'd rather have a utv at that point :notsure: I've ridden ATVs my entire life so even for work purposes they bore the crap out of me and find no use in them

Was out riding all day yesterday minus 3ish hours. (Was waiting on a friend to help him learn to do an oil change on his truck but he flaked on me...) Met up with my buddy and messed about for awhile. Went into the rich area to look at houses that are waaaay out of our tax bracket haha. Did find some fun jumps in the area thou! Went out to check out some new helmets and I found two I liked but the LS2 I didn't like the color so I'll order one online later. The dual sport helmet I liked but I can't get behind this style of helmet tbh.. they are nice but I prefer true dirt helmets so idk maybe? It was cool and carbon fiber thou lol

Ahhhhh my lovely home state of CA and the STUPID that was covid policies.... They filled this skatepark with sand because it was "illegal" to be out in open air gathering at the time. couldnt go out in fresh air, people getting arrested for surfing alone by themselves etc etc. At one point you literally had to have papers showing you were an essential worker traveling to work just in case you got pulled over. The tyranny that went on at that time has been attempted to be swept under the rug and forgotten by the crooked leaders.

Almost lost my job due to covid shot policies, told em to pound sand heres a medical exemption while 99.7% of the rest of the employees and students - thousands of people - just rolled over and gave in even though lots voiced they didnt want to "but had no choice". I dealt with being shit on for months n months due to my decision and stance by those that looked at me as if i was "dirty" and would get them all sick... (after being one of only two people in my dept - IT - to work on site for LONG days while they sat at home doing fuck all) only to have every single covid policy null and voided and swept under the rug in under a year without a single bit of compassion or accountability to the wrongdoing that occurred.

I have worked at the same place for 10.5 yrs, In the last 2.5 yrs I have never seen more employees and students so consistently sick and not just sick with normal colds, sick with weird illnesses, sick thats putting younger healthy people in hospitals.... there have been more visits by EMS to campus in the last 2 yrs vs the previous 8 combined.... Coincidental timing. The people that called me dirty hate when I point this out... they are also the people who have gotten covid MULTIPLE times even after 3 forced shots and likely 3 more voluntary at this point... also the same people that asked me to remove my USA Flag 10 minutes after I put it up on the wall in my office (dont worry it still hangs high and proud).... this is todays higher education - its sad.

    /RANT

NOTE: I dont care what someone does at a personal level just dont push it on me, though I question the logical reasoning of those still wearing masks everywhere when they are likely on shot 5 or 6....

I will say it was FUN riding around when no one was on the roads during that time, LITERALLY NO ONE, just lawless hooning around the canyons.

Not typing a book on my phone.

Trip was loooong. Bike is obviously used (minor scuffs here and there), but no glaring issues. It has a zumo mount wired in that I didn't know about. Bonus, maybe? I don't want GPS on it. Has an after market horn as well.

Only "problems" found were that the bars are slightly bent so getting the left plastics off might not be possible without pulling the bar off. Oil was overfilled; had a full gallon in it. Aux lights are getting condensation, but are bright AF.
