i think they are limiting capacity. i think they long range model trims are mostly electronic updates, and with the plaid options its a software update.

Fair enough and yes I think it is underestimated how much energy is needed to charge these vehicles.

I did do a ton of math on the teslas cost per mile vs combustion a while back before gas got stupid. It was interesting. If I used zero electricity in my home for the entire month I could charge my car 4 times from dead to max before I crossed the threshold into eye gouge territory for electric rates.

I've met a few people, through an overland group of all places, that also have Teslas. They use them for their long commutes, and compared to their GXs and FJs, they are saving BOATLOADS each month, lol. One of them is in real estate of some sort and drives all over WA. Recently, he ended up driving from the Seattle area all the way out to Colville. Obviously had to hit a charging station midway somewhere, but didn't have any issue, and was WAY cheaper than gas. My diesel Cruze would probably still beat it on cost in a drive like that, but either is a massive difference than the 13 mpg I get in my Tacoma!

I can't remember for sure, but I'm pretty certain I saw that if you've got a trailer at whatever weight it's rated it, it'd take like 11 years to cross the US. Also those electric trucks weight so much some of them are just blowing through the barriers in crash tests. Good times

Was it knocking yet? There seems to be a problem with the rod bearing in the #1 cylinder. Something about chips getting into the oil passage from the machining process. Once that gets ironed out I would love to have one later in life when the new wears off.
