Saw an interesting video the other day (The Car Care Nut) explaining the difference between spin-on type oil filter and cartridge type like the 3rd Gen Taco. One of the major differences is on the cartridge type the bypass mechanism is in the filter housing (the plastic part that holds the filter element) and not in the filter itself like the spin on type. For this reason he suggest bypassing the step of draining the filter housing first as sticking the drain 'nipple' into the housing could damage the bypass mechanism over time. I've read in this forum of folks changing oil by just removing the whole housing without draining it first as a time saver and not any messier than the filter draining method, maybe even less of a mess. Not possibly damaging the bypass valve is worth thinking about.

I may have to do that next time. I don’t think that it would be any messier doing it that was and save a couple steps in the process as well.

An extra foot on my bed would come in handy sometimes, but the short bed (a) can carry my skis; (b) can carry my bikes; and (c) fits in the garage. I think it also gets me out of the, "You have a truck so I'll let you help me move" requests.
And I'll admit that mine is more of a recreational toy than a work truck.

^^This^^ I get those emails all the time. Along with the 'We want to buy your 2020 6MT Tacoma blah blah blah' emails. I'm guessing they are estimating your mileage.
    Peace and Love

I like the "you have a truck" perspective. I hope they don't find out I have a trailer.

Got out and used it finally. Did a good shake down towing and running the boat. The new leafs made it 100X better. Trucks need rake if you actually use them, it's far more stable all around not having the nose sky high. Also ran the fridge for the day and it's officially my favorite mod. Not having ice is excellent.

I added a throttle response modifier. The price seemed too good to pass up.
I was skeptical, then surprised how much this device changes the driving experience.
It seems like a whole new engine...

I shredded a letter I received from the dealer (a Dodge dealer) from whom I purchased my (used) Taco. They wanted to buy it back...

So what did I do today? I didn't sell it. ;)

Mostly electrical shit that nobody cares about.
This looks good but I just checked the price. Yeesh, they want a lot for four computer cut stickers. Hope they have discounts for the holidays or something.

These are 33/12.5r18. It had a slight rub on the front fender. I’ve got it trimmed off now and everything fits good.
