You can grow potatoes in garbage cans. I used 20 gal cans. Works great! Here is a link for the how to. https://www.almanac.com/video/growing-potatoes-trash-can

Hahaha nope…brand new 20 gal rubbermade cans. I used 2 the inner one I drilled holes in for drainage. The outer one held the water so it didn’t drip through the deck.

Same Sitka rose bush. White and pink flowers.
I've been around and grown Sitka roses for 30 years, this is my first dual color bush.

Crabapple tree about to go into full bloom. Love the hot pink blossoms!
Trying to see if I can propagate it from a sucker growing at the base.

    Planted peppers and eggplants today.
    Using 20 gal plastic planters.
    Hilled potatoes.

Picked a first gallon of blueberries today off 2 bushes. Have another 1.5-2 gal left on those two, ripening. D3ciding if we want ro jam them, ot eat fresh. Definitly making a cobbler or 3.

Ran out of time to pick radishes, had to mow the back 3 acres and it is bumpy anf full of stumps, so slow going.

Found some ripe blackberries. Need to spray them with fungacide.

Started slips of beni-imos (edit Okinawa purple sweet potatoes, 150% more of anti-oxidants than blueberries) yesterday.

One word “Crossbow” used to do blackberry removal for a living here in Seattle. Crossbow will knock them dead. Pro tip hack them down to nubs while green first, wait for them to send out new leaves and then spray. Otherwise you’ll have nasty dead canes to deal with. Oh and Don’t get it on any woody plant you don’t intend to kill or over mix as a little goes a long way.

We got rid of wild ones, we had 6 acres of them or so, down to a half+ish, just along the perimeter. Pics are of the thornless.

We are on the well, so I use chemicals very sparingly. We bush-hogged them, and I just keep that area mowed. Overtime the wild blackberries die off.

Latest cleared area got 2 bald cypress (for esthetics), 3 chestnuts (for nuts), and 2 small leaf lindens for the tea.

A long time ago as a kid I went to a localish restaurant chain called Shari's while they were having a seasonal blackberry menu. I got the blackberry lemonade that had a couple berries in it and those fuckers were almost the size of golf balls. Idk who genetically modified them but they were the best blackberries I ever had
