Is fine with me. I just picked up my 2015 Friday. :) My wife wanted me to get a 2024, but in this case I /wanted/ a 2nd Gen. Much more like big Tonka trucks than computers with wheels and engines. The Gen 2 is the last of the true work/utilitarian trucks. The Gen 4 is too big, too kitschy for me. I get it, they're more refined, easier to drive, more comfortable, etc., etc.
They're just too bulky and with too many parts that can break and require a dealer or experienced shop to replace, and they're WAY too expensive for me. I just get the sense that they're status symbols rather than work/sport vehicles.
Gen 2 I can replace pretty much everything I need, and it is unlikely anything will break as long as I keep good maintenance.
So, yeah, that's fine with me.

Matt's Off-Road is a great channel. He pulls out more stuck sedans than anything else. Love when a Prius is miles off road on a dirt trail. Like great job getting stuck. Lol

I had a 2007 Honda fit that I took... *everywhere*.
I have ended up on quad trails, fracking access roads, and floated it across a couple of rivers. There was a tricked out Bronco, I guess 10 years ago, that was mudding and had bottomed out in a defunct logging road in the middle of the Allegheny National Forest. My wife, our youngest, and we trundled up in our little 1500CC Fit packed to the gills with camping gear, and stopped to make sure they were okay. Dude and his buddy looked at our car, looked at us, looked at each other and back at us. I said 'Sorry guys, I don't think I can pull you out, but do you know if we hit the road out to Kane if we keep straight?' We all cracked the hell up at the ridiculousness of the situation. We ended up getting stuck in a particularly deep puddle for a few minutes, I had to back out and on the other side of the puddle, but otherwise we made it out fine.
We have a dozen stories like that; one time we passed some good ole' boys in a dualie through about a foot of snow over ice. We were going up a hill and these boys were sliding all over the place. I had just put on some brand new snows and was doing our little imitation of a snow plough up the hill. I had to hit the horn so they would get out of the way. Four pairs of eyes watched as our little car that would fit in the bed of their truck tooled by and disappeared around the bend.
We just had to retire her, 360K miles and 17 years after the day I drove out of the Honda dealership.
I'll miss that car. My Tacoma has some serious shoes to fill.

She's awesome! Works on her husband's 2009 Tacoma and the videos are super helpful. Car Care Nut is outstanding too for the general Toyota maintenence guides.

Kflo is a stellar dude. He should have more of a presence on here and he'd rocket up in attention.
I have learned most from his videos and how-to's on here.
Now, I work on the family's fleet, the 'easy' stuff anyways.
