Kyle and nick know what my levels are, I’m down to party with 2wd But obviously there are limits.
Width and turning radius also are factors with my truck being LT, tundra rack, and DCLB lol.

my daily 4Runner is 4wd with a locker, but also 100% stock 27yr old suspension and highway tires… I’ll see what I feel more comfortable bringing at it gets closer

 

Maybe the trail from pioneer town to big bear? All Trails calls it Burns Canyon. That’s Santiago peak level easy, or was last time I went

Both will be fun

 

Lots to do in 2wd. Even if it’s just cruisin through the fire roads, always a good time. DCLB here, just a few extra point turns. Haha.

You should probably do the CV axles while doing the ball joints. I know with those tacomas its easier/required I believe to disconnect the ball joint to remove the CV. Maybe do 1 side per day/weekend to make it easier and not leave the truck down for too long

Its hard to say what the trail was like then since I hadn't gone. There's also a kind of false peak which is easy to get to, but the actual Tip Top felt like a higher difficulty to get up to. A lot of people do typically stop at the false peak

We can definitely make White Mountain happen one of these days. Its a good trail

That trail you are describing sounds like Grapevine, starts over by the base of White Mountain though it drops you more in Hesperia. That's a fun one, but unfortunately it was closed last I checked due to the trail washing away during our big storms last year

Like Nick said you might be thinking of Pioneer Town or possibly also Rattlesnake Canyon. Both are also 2wd friendly


On a different note Randy, meant to mention it before but forgot (probably because I wasn't quoting you ) how do you have to give your cat medicine? Is it a pill, medicine treat, liquid?

 

He's on a very strict urinary diet. I'll tag you when I write about it in the cat's section.

Short version, Feb 14, 2024 I almost had to put him down and he is barely 1yr old. It put a really financial strain on me, but it was worth it!!!

 

Btw, I'll be ordering my CV axles from NAPA this week.

I went to HB today and grabbed just about all of my tools. So the prepping to start work on my truck is being done like I said.

I just got home here in San Diego about an hour ago. I am EXTREMELY EXHAUSTED right now!!!

If its just specific food at specific times get a timed feeder. $50 on Amazon and will let you be gone for a couple days without stressing about it. That's how I give my cat her steroid treats for her inflammatory bowel disease. Has worked great for almost 2 years now
