Today I hooked up a trailer to my Tacoma for the first time. When I hooked it up I had 3/4 of a tank of gas. When I disconnected the trailer, after taking it on a test tow, my gas guage showed full and the miles to empty was reset.
I have searched for an answer to this and have only found where Tundra's are having this issue. Has anyone else had this issue with their brand new 2024 Tacoma? I have a 2024 Tacoma SR5.

How much did the trailer weight? How much sag?

Trailer was loaded with clothing but the majority of the weight was on the two axels. So there was very little sag when hitched up.

More software bugs. Isn’t technology great?

lol this is the same issue the 22+ tundra has. if it sits nose up, the tank resets to full randomly.

it was supposedly resolved with toyota changing the tank layout and adding a 2nd sensor.

the software for the tank level seems to have changes to take a reading at startup instead of delayed reading like the older gen's from what i heard.

have them note in the service call. its so new there will be no TSB to resolve it. it took almost a year for the tundra to get a TSB on only MY22 tundra's fuel gauge issue. nothing for 23+ tundra's yet.

we have it happen on our 23 tundra and there is reports its still happening on the 24's with nose up parking

My dealer had no clue as to what is causing this. If anyone's dealer has a fix or acknowledges the issue, please let me know. Very frustrating on a brand new truck.

The Tacoma and the Tundra have different reset buttons. I saw this before and it would not work with a 2024 Tacoma.

It is not a physical button anymore. The ODO shows all the time and the trip is reset using the display. So the engine has to be on for you to see a trip to reset. You can't hold any buttons down in a 2024 Tacoma for trip.

People with 2024s are still having the issue. Doesn’t seem like they went through with adding the 2nd sensor.

Did you forget you plugged it in? Wireless charging? Maybe the EPA tricking firmware got left in place?

Oh wait, it's not Friday
