Maybe the passenger just found out they’re fuses and that’s why he’s bailing.

From the angle of this photo I thought you had fitted a gigantic hood scoop to your truck.

lol. No giant hood scoop, I'm not that Portuguese. Weather Tech bug deflector. Had a stone chip my hood the first week I got the truck. I know people bash on them, but I haven't had anything hit the hood since putting it on.

Those actually have a real benefit besides decoration. Without one the hood flexes absurdly and pops free from the support frame adhesive. Adding “knight rider” lights is another thing altogether.

    Soooooo,

what you're saying is...the non-skewp hoods flex but the "skewp" with it's plastic insert bracket provides support?

And even more support if "Knight Rider" lights are installed?

I've looked at Knight Rider lights but am a bit reluctant to buy/install because I have "Grill Lights". lol

Not even close. The extra bends and layered opening w/insert stiffen the hood. Lights are purely aesthetic. The much larger expanse of my plain hood ripples like sailcloth.

Plain hoods flex like crazy, scooped hoods don’t, so they at least provide a tangible benefit. If there were no other lighting leds there could make a claim for visibility but are redundant in that respect.

OK, I'm thinking the "skewp" provides rigidity with the bends/layered opening.

Adding any more rigidity would not provide any benefit.

I'm looking for Raptor lights for this type of plain old SR5 grill (which I really like, by the way). I've looked just about everywhere. I think the trick is that this grill doesn't have a lot of vertical lattice behind the horizontal parts. Advice, sarcasm, links, smartass comments all welcomed and enjoyed, by the way. And yes, I have some tint on order to tone down that obnoxious chrome emblem to fit in my black out scheme. I plasti-dipped the chrome ring on the outer edge of the grill a week after I bought it last year because it was irritating the crap out of me. Plasti-dip holds up really well.

If you do decide to take the plunge: please consider only installing three: evenly spaced: in the true center portion of the grille with the parking lights acting like the two on the far right and left.

To each their own. The beauty of the car world is you can make it yours any way you want. Personally I like the look with the Pro Grill

Very true! Unfortunately there is a ton of hate in the car world but it is what it is. In the end it’s your car to do as you please. Like the people that cover their windshields with their car club stickers or lower a working truck and drive around looking like Q-tips

My lights strike fear into Miata’s everywhere. I pull as close as I can to their rear bumpers at red lights so they know I am there and haunt them in their dreams.

lol, i love people that do that. they usually try to follow me away from the light. then i turn a corner, and watch as they almost lose it into the ditch, because in all their haste to try to keep up with a sports car, they generally forget that physics exists.

there's never any fear on my end. i usually start smiling, as i know what's about to happen, but they can't see past their gigantic ego.

    so thanks for the laughs.
