Just ordered it like two days ago and probably won't receive it until next week. Once I install it I will test it for a couple of days and give my feedback here. Based on the videos I've seen it shouldn't take more than 30 mins to install. It's truly like 5 plugs to plug in. But here is a link of a guy that posted his unit on YouTube to give you an example of his setup.

I will say I wanted to end up with three very important things in regards to an stereo upgrade. Number 1 was theft..I have to park on the street,no if's and or but's about it..street parking in Sacramento isn't the safest thing around for wheels/tires/stereos...with the OEM+ I get to keep the stock deck. Number 2 was sound...abit more quality and abit louder over the stock setup..three was ease of install and prep work..I didn't have to figure out what to buy, how long of cables..connectors..fuses..sub box/sub..cutting..all that jazz..it was the middle of July when I installed it..94 degrees by 1PM and standing on the street to install would have been made twice as bad if I had to do all the cutting and crap. End of the day, would I buy and do it all over again? I would...but of course now I'm moving into a house with an acre and two garages hahahaha..go figure

I noticed that on the website they list a single 10" sub option, but no matter how much I search I have yet to come across any reviews using the reference 500 series with 10" sub. Has anyone gone this route or heard anyone else's opinion on how that sounded?

Finally got around to installing my Joying Android Head unit. Took about 45 mins to install and very simple plug and play setup. Yes, I can confirm that it's extremely louder that the stock head unit with OEM Audio plus system and yes it's compatible with my BeatSonic front camera system. I believe the volume goes up to 30 but I keep it around 10, and 12 is pretty loud. I can't imagine going up to 30. With the stock head unit I would have to go up to 45 volume level if I rolled down my windows on the freeway. This Joying unit can be heard pretty well on the freeway with the windows down at around 12 volume level.

I picked up the OemAudio setup for a double cab a few weeks back and have a couple of finer questions about the install that I didn’t see obvious answers for while skimming the thread:

    1. Anyone managed to install the amps up in the dash? Any reason I wouldn’t want to try it myself? I really don’t want to leave the amps under the seats for people to kick and mess with the wiring.

    2. Is there a switch insert for the bass knob? I’m looking for something like what redarc provides for their brake controller, so that I don’t have to put it somewhere outside of the dash where I can bang it with my knees or similar.

    re: switch location

You could either relocate the ECT switch like I did or install the bass control knob to this location.

You put your bass control knob in a switch blank? That’s exactly what I want to do! Any tips/pics?

No, I moved my ECT button in front of the E-brake which left a spot for my Anytime backup camera switch.
I asked @ MESO to 3D print me a single switch holder for the relocated ECT button.

This is actually a really good idea, I haven't done this myself as I don't have the OEM Audio set up yet, got me thinking! Lol

I have the 10" sub. I'm not impressed plan on replacing it.

I installed the Reference system with dual amp and 10" sub late last year. The system arrived with the amp settings improperly configured so the sub put out almost no bass. Customers service wasn't helpful. Eventually, I realized there was a plate on the amp that could be removed to access all the normal settings. I emailed customer service again and they replied with the proper configuration settings. The sub sounded a lot better but still mediocre sound quality across the board in my opinion (across all speakers). I installed sound deadening mat which helped.

If anyone has information on the box volume or top depth mount distance of 10" sub, please share.

In addition to not configuring the amp, they didn't shrink the heat shrink on this cable. Nor did they properly crimp one of the pins. As such, the wire came lose. They charged me $27 to replace the cable that they poorly assembled.

Thank you, that's the first post I have seen about it and appreciate the input. I wouldn't expect window shaking levels of bass out of any of their setups, just would like some depth to it where it's at least noticeable inside the truck. I don't need everyone I drive past feeling or anything like that. I prefer not getting the dual 8" because I do use that storage space sometimes, was hoping the 10" would at least make a decent upgrade from the single 8". Do you have any pictures of the sub installed? They don't even have that on their site.

I had to tune the sub amp on my OEM+ system via the same discovery of the hidden adjustments. They had WAY too much mid bass going to the sub (the LPF was maxed at the highest frequency). After tuning it myself, it's fine now. Oh, and the bracket for mounting the amp wasn't drilled properly, so I had to fix that too.

They have a history of sloppy workmanship. I wouldn't buy from them again at the price they charge.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the 10"in sub setup? I'd like to know what impedance the amp is configured to. I'm wondering if I can replace the sub with the Alphasonik TSW310 10" TREIS Slim Series Subwoofer.

I reached out to customer support to get sub details and was told the following:

Sub enclosure is 14 liters in cubic liters. The woofer plugs are for a 4-coil subwoofer.

That's a nice, clean, slick install. Looks OEM. Was wonderingrabout yout joying head unit. Have you lost any features ir had any connection issues?

Things I'm looking for in a head unit are:
    Improved audio
    Volume knob
    Dedicated nav
    Satellite radio reception
Back up Camera and steering wheel controls
    Ease of use
    Clear crisp picture

I'm no audiophile but I like the idea of simplicity and quality.

Improved audio- Yes, 100% louder than stock head unit with OEM Audio+ system. I leave it at level 7 out of 48 and it's plenty loud with DTS turned on. I had to turn it up to around 40 with the stock head unit and OEM audio Plus when driving with the windows down. I never go pass level 14 with the windows down as it is too loud for my listening when I'm jamming to Five Finder Death Punch LOL!!. This head unit will blow your stock speakers if you push the volume to it's limit. I recommend getting your stock speakers upgraded at the least.
Volume knob- works great but if I need to mute I just press the mute button on the steering wheel just like factory.
Dedicated Nav- Dedicated Nav works fine but I prefer to use Z-Link app of the android head unit for wireless Android Auto/Apple Play which makes the icons on the map bigger for my old eyes.
Satellite radio reception- You will lose that feature but you can download the Sirius XM Radio app on the head unit which gives you cellular reception via mobile hotspot instead of satellite. The app is better than satellite reception especially during cloudy/rainy days or building obstructions. If you don't want to use your mobile hotspot from your cellular provider you can add a dedicated SIM card to the head unit.
Back up Camera - Stock backup camera will work as normal with the included plug and play adapters. If you have a front camera it will work as stock as well. I recommend you purchase Joying cameras instead of using stock if you want HD viewing. Stock cameras only put out 480p resolution instead of the 1080p you will get with their cameras. I will be swapping mine out at a later time. I should have purchased their cameras as a bundle option when I first purchased the head unit. The head unit allows you to access both cameras anytime even while driving. You can also add storage and have constant recording of front and back cameras.
Steering Wheel Controls- Works as factory. The only thing you will lose is the compass, navigation, font color, and the station the radio is on on the dash display. Make sure whatever settings you had setup on the original head unit to customize the dash display is set to your liking before removing the original head unit. I kept my old head unit should I need to make any changes on the dash display in the future.
Ease of use-If you can operate a smart phone you can operate this head unit. Although, you have plenty of more options to tinker with since it is technically a smart phone with radio features.
Clear Crisp Picture- As clear and crisp as your smart phone up against the display of the original head unit.

If I was to do it all over again, I would have purchased this head unit and upgraded the speakers first before investing on the OEM Audio Plus system. That would have been the cheaper route and maybe would have a better option on the subwoofer solution. Hope this helps.

Damn I gotta check mine now. My sub is like non existent. Can’t hear much even if I put my ear to it.
