I saw this thread on Reddit earlier today for 3d printing a mount to attach the warrior nutsetter set onto the mini ratchet set. Even more bike utility then without having to try and jam stuff into the case.

Well I got a hold of Ivan who I have my FZ1 flashed and power commander map from back in 2019. Well he has a flash update and it doesn’t require the pcv anymore. They were able to get access to all the parameters in the ECU. He said it will give a noticeable power increase, better fuel mileage, better idle, lower operating temps and even sound different. We talked on the phone for about 30 min telling me all about it. He said it’s free since I already had his flash. All I have to do is pay shipping. So this morning I took out the ecu and shipped it off.
Then I installed the ohlins rear shock, drained and refilled the forks with new oil, did a full brake flush front and rear , installed the grip puppies and cleaned the chain. As soon as I get the ecu back it will be ready to rip this summer.

Got the VIN inspection, Wyoming title, paid sales tax, and transferred the plate and insurance from the Honda. The Super Tenere is officially the main bike.

A buddy has a friend looking at getting a bike, so may already have a buyer for the CB500X. :fingerscrossed:

Moved the plate over and removed the little add on/flip up bit that was on the windshield. It's not optically correct and is in my sight line a bit more than I'd like. My friend with a V-Strom 800DE said he wants it because his windshield is really low for his height.

So, the bike has a few add-ons.

First, a ring for a tank bag. I don't like it and I have a bag that doesn't need it. For the life of me can't tell how to get one bolt off. Bottom left in the pic. It's an allen head but it's got a peg that fills it, and not a round one. Also, the top left in the pic was rounded out by whoever put it on. No brand marking or anything so I'm not sure if that's stock hardware or replacement stuff that'll I'll need to replace with stock when I remove it.

    20240513_165358.jpg

It's also got these weird brackets on the mirror mounts. They have nuts on the backside. (Giggity) Any ideas on what they're for?

There aren't that many companies selling a ring mounted tank bag set up, Givi and SW Motech are the two I'm familiar with. I've had the SW Motech and their mount looks different than that. I know their mount changes a couple of the bolts. I think a new hex bit might get those damaged bolts out. We use a spray at work, I think it's called Freeze Out and it works well at helping break loose stuck fasteners.

No clue on those things under the mirrors.

Offorad/aux light mounts maybe? for the handlebar mounts.

as far as the tank ring...i was gonna say security bit, but I see the peg is also hex shaped which wouldn't track.

Easiest solution will prob be an extractor bit, if that peg isn't a broken bit you can magnet out or something like that.

dremel a slot into the rounded out screw and use a flathead. at least that's what I would do. could probably do the same for the other one with the peg in it.

That's my next accessory... mine still has the stock hard rubber grips. I have OURYs on all of my MTBs but I hear the pillowtops are just as comfy and grippy and they are breezy too.
