    Greetings,

I'm looking for some advice regarding my 2020 TRD-Offroad Dual Cab Short Bed, which currently has the following setup:

    • Stock 16x7 wheels (25 offset)
    • 265/70/16 tires (1 year / 4,000 miles)
    • Stock suspension
    • No cutting/trimming at this time
I'm currently running 1.25" spacers to give a bit of poke, so the wheels aren’t as tucked in.

    My Immediate Goal:
    1. Eliminate the spacers while maintaining a similar stance. I don't want to replace my almost brand-new tires only to have to replace them again in the next 18 months when I upgrade to 33".
    Future Goals:
    1. Upgrade to 33" tires with minimal cutting or chopping to the vehicle while retaining the ability to mount mud flaps to prevent rock chipping and snow/mud packing.
    Planned Incremental Modifications:
    • Wheels: Purchase and equip a set of Method 701 16x8 (0 offset) wheels with my current 265/70/16s.
    • Lift Kit: Purchase and equip an RC 3.5" VRTX Lift Kit, which includes UCA, rear leaf, etc.
    • Tires: Eventually swap tires for 285/70/16s.
    Considerations and Questions:
    • My goal is to have something that handles fairly well on and off-road.
    • I've read mixed reviews about RC suspension, although the VRTX seems to be a solid option that provides adjustability without breaking the bank.
    • Would I notice a substantial difference in turning or handling, especially at highway speeds with 33’s on 16x8 vs 17x8.5 vs 17x9?
    • Would the 16” vs 17” options be more likely to require cutting the outer fender or cab mount rather than light trimming of the inner fender?
Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated!

why do you need a lift?
The OR is very versatile from the factory

I want to run 33's for aesthetics and so I'm less prone to scraping the underside of my vehicle.

But 1.25" spacers? That's.... whoeeee..... a lot. I'd be looking to shuck those off ASAP.

Not a big fan of RC but that lift kit looks quite decent and you will easily be able to fit 33s without that much offset and also still avoid rubbing.

Yeah, I'm trying to decide whether it would be financially wiser to just get 16" wheels with the desired offset now, or save up for 8 months or so and get 17's along with the lift and 33s all at once

You can have 33's now. 255/85/16.

285/70/16 is barely 32" tires. May as well to put 265/75/16.

I got a sticker and some cool valve stem caps...
Do it all at once. U will look like a fool with a 3.5" lift on stock 265/70r16's. I prefer to stay away from Rough Country, but it's all budget depending. I would stick with 2" up front and 1-1.5" in the rear. Bilstein or eibach and a block or aal in the rear.

Keep in mind you can quickly ruin a daily driver truck with a huge lift and wheels with a huge negative offset. Seen it many times.

Yeah, I planned to do the lift and 33's at the same time, just wanted to get rid of the spacers for peace e of mind before then.

Oh, I also quoted the wrong size, I was specifically thinking of these 33's once I get the lift.
