I've had three barbers in my entire life, only one of which I had to pay. My grandmother was a hairdresser out of her house, and cut my hair until I was well into my 30's. Next was a former neighbor that was right beside us. She also did hair from her house. At her highest she might have been $10. I guess I went to her for about 20 years. Next is my current stylist, my wife. Probably the most expensive, but I don't pay by the cut. If she retires, I'm in trouble.

 

That was my suggestion. . I agree, I'm a sucker for the old stuff, but the fiskars is surely a better tool. I was hoping to find a Scandinavian axe maker's stamp on the old one, that would have boosted my opinion a bit, but there was nothing.

I carry the same fiskars axe in my truck, and really like it. When I needed a new maul I bought the fiskars as well and it has been excellent.
