If you're interested in a few different Yamahas, check out their events section on the website. https://yamahamotorsports.com/events.php
You can see if they have any demo days close enough to be worth the trip and then you can go ride a couple bikes. It won't be a free run where you can get nutty, so no worries about wrecking it, but you should be able to play with it enough to tell if you like the feel. If nothing else you can get an idea for the ergonomics and see if any just feel wrong right off the bat.

Dude.... the Z650RS makes my pants very tight. Essentially the same as the yamaha MT## vs XSR## line... Same motors and chassis just different styling. I REALLY like the retro modern look so that RS checks ALLLLLLL the boxes in the looks dept for me. Probably a little more comfortable to ride too vs the regular naked.

DAMMMNNIT.... i absolutely dont need another bike

If we're doing these I'll throw in my 2 cents for an XSR700. I think the 2016-2021 models look best.

sooo ive actually sat on those and like them a lot buuut its gonna sound silly but the radiator sticking out like that with no guard on it makes it look goofy but thats just me haha. can always get something to cover the sides a tiny bit. the other thing i dislike is the cost of them.. they are pricey!
both are sweat looking bikes cant go wrong with either tbh!

Yeah the "retro" tag on those bikes (kawi, or yamaha) definitely carry a price increase.

OK time to solve moto lusting by hopping on the lil ole xt225 to go to lunch. Kinda like post nut clarity.

ya they do but i feel that would be better for comfort since the seat is more squish lol so it might be what i truly need for both of us tbh. get the playfulness of a naked sport bike but a larger seat like other bikes

haha my bad! i found a deal that was good so started looking and after talking with her she wont be buying a dual sport for a year or so since she has her own goals before that which is fair. so time for me to try and get my own bike lol

Try to stay away from 06-07 I think because they had frame cracking problems. The later ones have an update ecu.

yup lol. the Kawis look great but the yamaha noises can't be beat. I also liked the anniversary paint scheme of the yamaha better.

I don't think they are much higher than their regular naked offerings, only by $500 or so? still a decent chunk...but I've found the "neo-retro" versions (or neo-cafe as some call them) tend to hold their value better upon resale.

Very customizable though. shameless plug of mine just before I sold it because now you have me reminiscing.

Just got back from my dental implant consultation. I liked the doc as he seemed to be very honest and just got a good vibe from him. Price for full upper in zirconia complete is 20k which didn’t surprise me. You can get porcelain cheaper but IMO the price doesn’t outweigh the benefits of zirconia.
I have another appt with another place tomorrow but I did talk to the doc about his opinion about other big corp implant companies. He gave me the pros and mostly cons of their procedures. The biggest being after surgery you never see that doc again and get passed off to someone else. He said you get me for the entire time from start to finish including the every 6 month checks.

I wish I had more, but these are pretty much all I got before one of the unluckiest weeks of my life. There will be plenty soon enough.

I like that, first glance I thought it was an RZ.

I'd have to have fenders, a small windscreen and maybe a different saddle. Be tough getting from Dallas to Albuquerque in one hop thru rain squalls and a norther on it. But I like it. One of those horses for courses bikes.

I like the shit out of that, scratches all my itches. You could run 5 hours of interstates then short cut thru fire roads.

That's exactly why I got it! I live 3 miles up a forest road, so I had planned on daily driving it. Looking back, I got way too overconfident. Should have taken more time to get familiar with it, but I was excited and couldn't help myself. Ended up high-siding it in the last gravel turn on a Monday morning. It won't be seeing anything other than pavement before I get an engine cage and other such armor on it.

i chopped my front fender because it was a bit too large for me OEM. Rear I removed completely, though that did get a lot of spray on my back on wet days lol.

Windscreen would have been nice, part of the reason i traded up was I got tired of battling the wind on the freeway. Seat I had planned on changing but sold it before I got around to it, they have some much more attractive OEM and aftermarket options.

Loved that bike though, rode it rain or shine for a year before upgrading.

Honda NC750X - Has a trunk where the tank usually is to put fuel under the seat and keep weight low. Google says the 2018 weighs 478 lbs. It will definitely handle any city duties and riding 2 up should be easy. Maybe not exciting like a sport bike, but it's also never going to die.

    https://www.cycletrader.com/listing/2018-Honda-NC750X-5031815613

Suzuki SV650 - Older, and thus cheeeap. No clue on condition because they don't have anything but stock pics, so you'd definitely have to do a bit of poking and prodding for more info. Price is nice, though.

    https://www.cycletrader.com/listing/2007-Suzuki-SV+650S-5031806493

Suzuki V-Strom DL1000 - A liter bike for 4 grand. Yes, it's got some miles on it, but the old school V-Stroms last forever... at least that's what I hear. This will have lots of room to be comfortable, and being a liter bike should provide plenty of excitement. Take the bags off and it'll look lean and stylish. Looks like previous owner added heated grips and a 12V outlet. Maybe more goodies too?

    https://www.cycletrader.com/listing/2005-Suzuki-DL1000-5029411274

Honda Silverwing FSC600 - Embrace the retro cool look and have all the comfort. Nobody will look down on you. I promise!

    https://www.cycletrader.com/listing/2002-Honda-Silver+Wing+FSC600-5030789383

Honda NT700 V - A rare shaft drive option on a sporty touring style bike. Priced under $5k and likely will outlive us all. Bonus, it's a V twin rather than a parrallel, so it'll sound good as well! Here's an article on it's launch. https://ridermagazine.com/2010/03/01/2010-honda-nt700v-abs-road-test/

I can understand it. I have been riding for 55 years so I have had all styles and varieties, it's all about what you are doing on it. Last 10 years, I really could care less about riding unless I am riding somewhere. I dont really ride to ride, but I will ride 6 hours for good seafood or BBQ, or to visit some historical site, grab a hotel and ride back the next morning.

My only advice, not that you asked, or that it is worth what you are paying for it LOL. Dont get locked into extremes. I used to take 2,000 mile scooter (to clarify, motorcycle trips, I had a GL1800) trips with customers (mostly Gold Wing or BMW guys) and there were invariably a few Harley folk, to them, anything that wasnt the motor company sucked. They only thought Harley, they were Harley riders, motorcyclist were much more fun. They didnt give a shit if it was a Hayabusa or a Vespa, they had fun.

Me, from Bridgestone 90's to GL1800's, I can find something fun about any of them.
