nice dude! Here’s a pic of my 2016 with 6.8k miles (nvm the kook riding it!) Suspension & exhaust were the best upgrades ever. Still a heavy pig tho so it’s not very good off-road.

I also broke off the shift shaft on it once. It’s a real weakness of these bikes but maybe an engine cage will help. I had only parked it on some blacktop (which I guess was new and got real hot in the sun. Kickstand melted through it and bike ended up on the side with a broken shift shaft. I was able to change it without pulling the clutch, but it was a finicky job.

The Bolt is around 500lbs/60hp so it's not fast but the torque down low makes it fun to rip around town. Intake/exhaust/tune woke it up. It tops out at a bit over 100mph. I did a fair amount of highway riding on it but it gets tiring with no wind protection after a long day. Comfortable riding position and the low seat height makes for easy handling. I still attempted to ride it like it was a sport bike but with low ground clearance you drag pegs easily. And yup wore the same gear as I always would...

So in summary I enjoyed it, but ultimately I missed having a sport bike after my FZ-09 was totaled. If you can swing more than one bike that's the way to go to have some variety. And trying different bikes to see what you like is the fun of it! So far the supermoto is my favorite to ride, with runner up being a naked sport which is also fun and better for longer distance.

I think wringing the shit out of a slow bike is as much fun as trying to keep your license on a brutally fast bike that anything above 4k spooks your insurance agent. LOL

Yup, gotta get what fits your needs. i definitely still ride to ride, but only if it's a ride worth riding (one more "ride" for good measure). I can't just put around town anymore casually, but i'll go out to the canyons for some decent riding most weekend. And yeah, always cognizant of not pigeonholing myself. I may be brand loyal but I certainly have no issue entertaining other options. Never understand the people that voluntarily limit themselves from something great because it doesn't fall perfectly in line with their predetermined plan

    100% agreed

the BMW has been down for just over a month now. at first the R3 was disappointing, but the more I ride it the more fun I have with it.

I had never even sat on a Super Tenere but @nd4spdbh and @50Buck talked it up so much that I took a chance and drove 300+ miles to go buy mine sight unseen. Just send it and get something you think looks cool.

Also @50Buck sorry I haven’t been super active here- did you end up getting that S10?

Problem with Texas is, if I want to ride the canyons, it's a 1,000 mile round trip.

Yep! Haven’t been to SuperG in a while so thought I’d do a day trip. I’d like to check out opposition but I can’t make it to SD and back lol.

Thank you @gixxerphil :hattip: I was tied up with work stuff.

No need to apologize. Life gets in the way sometimes.

As Phil showed, yes, I got the bike. I have only put around 160-180 miles on it so far, but I adore it. Soooo happy with it and what it'll let me do travel wise.

It's exactly what I hoped for and more. Though, it may have ruined me. I don't think I want a bike without heated grips and cruise control after finally getting one that has both. LOL

Ya that's kinda what I was figuring on it's overall speed and power which is kinda funny a 940cc produces low numbers lol. How was it for vibrations and such? Was it super nuts like other cruisers or pretty tame? After 5 hours on the klx my hands are rather tingly lol. I haven't seen any in dealers near me but I have seen a few local ish for sale for around the 5-6k mark

I can swing more bikes buuuut it's hard to justify them if that makes sense haha hard to spend loads of money on something I don't use often and have multiple of them. I do want three bikes but that's a 2 stroke Enduro, my super moto and something j can two up on with the gf. The guys earlier were talking about the retro bikes like the z650rs and the xsr700 the 700 personally isn't as nice looking as the 650 but the 650 sounds bleh and the 700 sounds fun AF. So been kinda looking at those possible but the prices on them are in the 7k range which kinda sucks...

Here is an oddity my dad told me to find lol he told me to find a 1985 cb650 nighthawk with headlight fairing lol. He had one and loved it and said it was a great bike haha told him that's a bit older then what I'd want but I can't say no to a cheap good deal bike!

For sure! I can’t go back either. I used the cruise control so much on my Iron Butt trip.

So after my little spill on Monday night, I realize I need to pick up some decent knee brace/pads. Any suggestions, or some skinny 6'1" ish person have a spare pair for sale or swap? I'll need hip and upper armor at some point, but I'm just poking around on my driveway road and cousin's farm for the next few weeks. Thus far, just asking has gotten me a free helmet, free trailer and great price on barely used boots.
