For a bit of context about half a year ago I had issues with my truck (2006) not shifting properly and having trouble going down to first and taking turns in first as well as would shake quite a bit taking roundabouts going 30-40 kph. My mechanic replaced my transmission to no avail then found out it was a computer issue they replaced it and fixed the problem.
Today every one of those problems has come back and I have a check engine light on that dash again will I have to replace the computer again or is there another solution to this problem?

here's the code it keeps sending. It drove home perfectly fine yesterday night and drove to work fine today but yesterday morning it was driving horribly

Did they reuse the old Torque Converter that was in the truck before the tranny swap?

I don't think so I'm pretty sure they did a full swap

Stop throwing money at it. Take it to a good mechanic who knows what they're doing.

They are definitely not the best mechanic shop they didn't even know my truck had the fog lights harness pre installed but I've called around to every mechanic withing a hour of me and none of them have any idea how to fix it also I get a family discount so i can't complain

I know how it is, AJ. Try to find one with some gray in his/her whiskers or hair.

Nothing replaces experience. I wish you luck :)

Well, no mechanic is going to be able to diagnose it over the phone. Instead of calling around asking shops if they know what's wrong, ask them if they're willing to do some actual troubleshooting. And you'll have to be willing to pay for that troubleshooting even if it means a few hundred bucks. Avoid any place that offers to look at it for free

What's the point of a family discount if the first shop is just throwing parts at it?

Sounds like they tried both a new transmission and a computer. It could have a wiring issue somewhere. Somebody is going to have to do some pinpoint testing and check for open/shorted wires

I'd verify, if not that's a common denominator that's associated with the codes you're seeing.

They didn't just throw parts at it they did troubleshooting and talked to other local shops about other Tacomas that have the same or similar problems. In the end they did find a fix because it drove completely fine for 7 months with the new computer in it. I'm not sure if they just got a faulty replacement computer or if it's only a temporary fix but this seems like a quite a uncommon problem that many shops have never even dealt with before

Sounds more like a wiring issue or the solenoid, this is a circuit code not a mechanical code.
