Dealership near me has a Pro, going to see if I can show up tomorrow and kick the tires on it since they didn't respond to my online inquiry. $71k ($5k markup)

I was commenting on another thread that a comparable 2024 is about 20% higher than the one I bought in November of 2020. Then again, most everything is 20% higher or more since then. Just for shits and giggles I've been checking out the '24 on some YouTube videos, as I am not ready for a new but am retired, so what the hell, I've got time to kill. Interestingly, the algorithm at YouTube is bringing up videos about other pick up trucks and they mostly have the same theme: they ain't really selling. I thought I read somewhere the Ranger was redesigned like the Taco and it is struggling to move as well. Sometimes change isn't welcome.

I don't know that it is all about change as its the prices. While yes everything has gone up. People just cant' afford the price of the new vehicles while trying to survive all the other inflation. I mean I am in need of a new truck but I am fortunate I have other options that I can manage for the time being but I just cant justify some of these prices. I would gladly buy the full sized truck over Tacoma right now just due to the price and value but I hate the look of the tundra and resale value on other brands is not great so its just a real tough pill to swallow right now and I think everyone feels the prices are out of control. Saw a YouTube video where the guy pointed out the Tacoma is being made for cheaper in Mexico but yet prices are higher then ever and quality isn't there like it is out of Japan or being built in U.S.

I dont think its the change, at least not for me. I'd love to jump into a new 4th gen Pro. Its the fact my perfectly fine 17' Pro would fetch $32k trade-in and 24' Pro would be $65k+tax best case scenario. Which makes zero financial sense for me. I think the market has finally begun to price people out, barring vehicle loan beginning move to 8-10 years so people can afford payments.

I’m not going to read through the 20 pages of this crap…
Couple months ago, my San Diego dealership didn’t have any previous gen used Tacoma’s for sale on the lot….
Not 1 new 23 or used any year, these are all used trade-ins there as of today...
These guys aren’t trading in their previous gens to get into RAV4’s…
    Just sayin.......

Picked up my white off road premium yesterday and they had 4 other tacomas in a line with sold signs in all of them.I've noticed that everyone they get in has disappeared from there website within 48 hours of posting. They mentioned that they had 15 in over the last two months and all were sold within days.Went back today and zero in stock. Also no deal, all at MSRP.

Thats funny, I have a 2017 and my son turned 16 in September. My plan was to pass it on, but I kept it and we bought him a Subaru. :)

Local dealer has 7-8 trucks. All double cabs. Doing some kind of big red sticker discount of $250 off regular price.

Every market is different but they aren’t moving here and as shown in other markets. No doubt Cali, Hawaii, etc they are moving.
