    Hey TW members,

So i placed an order for a new 2011 TRD Sport dcSb V6 4x4 MGM about a month and a half ago. Today I just received news that Toyota is canceling orders due to lack of parts available :(. My current car is on its last leg and I was hoping to get my truck soon so that I wouldn't have to put more money into my current 98 Eclipse. I realize its a bit selfish to think about myself when all this is going on in Japan, but at some point we have to think about life going on. I have already checked all the dealers within 50 miles from me and none have the exact truck I want.

    So my options are....
    - wait it out and keep fixing my current car until ordering is available again.
    - Purchase a Taco that doesnt have all the options I want at a dealer for probably the same price. (dealers dont have TRD sport 4x4)...Im planning on doing some mountain/snow/dirt driving...but nothing too crazy which is why I want 4x4.
    - Purchase a different kind of vehicle.

Really bummed about not getting my Taco, but my heart goes out to all those that have been affected by the Earthquake in Japan.

So what do you guys think?

Go access cab, or offroad package (better package anyway).

Took 4 months to get my mgm dclb sport in 2010. Maybe they can find the one you want from a random dealership somewhere in the us and have it transported to your dealer?

I would look at the off road package. The way it looks things aren't going to get better fast. Maybe find a used one? My .02 :)

If you're going with a SB get an Off-Road NOT the Sport. That way you get the Elocker which I wish I had. If you went for the LB the Sport is your only option.

    Just my .02 :D

    Good Luck!!

They sent me an email saying mine was cancelled.

    - I would go with an off road package but I really dont need it and its more expensive. Access cab is too small inside.

    - The only other color I would want is White, but i was set on MGM damnit! haha

    - Road trip sounds pretty fun, if i had the time and money!

You're going to be spending/borrowing around 30k for the sport anyway, what's another grand or so?

    Thanks for the input!

Im not planning on going Mudding or doing any crazy off roading. 80% of the vehicle will be used on highways (I live in SoCal). The other 20% will be for trips to the mountains, or deserts.

Lol True, but my loan was for 29k and the rest ill just pay off. I had gotten the final price of the truck at 32k, but I know that dealers will try to rape the price. Looks like im going to have to haggle!. I looked at buyatoyota.com and found a white one with an MSRP of 32,500:eek: Thats before taxes and fees!

Anyway, how bad do you want it, and how long are you going to keep it?

If you're going to keep it a really long time, and you really want that color and you're gonna come on here in a year and a half asking how much it'll cost you to paint it the color you really wanted all along - well then best just wait it out.

You could buy a used one and drive it until a new one becomes available. You'll take a bit of a bath on sales tax, and depreciation though.
